Already solid.

Same. I'm overall pretty happy with the current state of iOS 7. That's not to say Beta 7 wouldn't be a welcome surprise. I did have a pretty serious case of the Safari crashes yesterday with a gif thread. Not sure what was causing the instability but I'm sure it'll be ironed out by GM release.

It has to be beta 7 not GM those are usually released at events. There must be some mistake.

Actually they can be the same thing. They release beta 7 today believing that, short of a major bug discovery, it is the last one they need to do. If they prove right then beta 7 is the GM release. Which they reveal at the event.

Although it likely won't be that tidy. There may be a feature or two they are testing only internally for the new hardware which would also be added to the GM. But for existing hardware it would be the same.

Sept 10th is only about 2 weeks away, that isn't this Fall, technically.

Businesses run on a fiscal calendar, not a chronological or meteorological one so yeah Sept 1 does start Fall. In fact depending on how the weeks fall it could even start in August

Wasn't talking about ios 7

Probably because a speed bump isn't very interesting, and Apple would announce any new developer platform at WWDC. And ATV updates are very infrequent anyway--I doubt we 'll see one.

You assume there would be a developer platform just for the ATV. It is possible no there won't. Because there will never be an open store for the ATV.

If he's right he'll be fired, if he's wrong he'll look like an idiot. Win-win for us.

If you're referring to Mr. I'm a Store Leader, right or wrong he could probably be fired just for saying he works for Apple. If he does. Something tells me they wouldn't look to kindly to his participation on such a site.

Apple is going to spend the September event talking about updates to the new iPhones and iOS 7. Probably some iPod updates that are small.

Like last year they will hold a later event in October to release the Mac Pro and new iPads. this will also give them another month to get iOS right for iPad. It simply doesn't feel quite right yet in a few areas.

Just using some logic here along with past examples.

I think we could all agree, if no beta 7 today then its not gonna happen. The GM is two weeks away (Supposedly)...

When this happens, something is running in the background...and, beta not being stable yet, it could be any of a number of things including, but not limited to...it's in a spot where it has fringe reception (1 bar, or switching between 1/no service)...an app not updated for ios 7 is running in background or running location services in background...location services was doing odd things for me in a previous beta...going to settings and turning location service off for each app off then the ones I needed back on solved this...iCloud keychain is still buggy...if you started to set it up, but didn't finish, go into it and get it turned off (or set it up, turn on).

If your iPhone is very warm, get rid of all apps in multitasking area, power cycle the phone...if not better, try some of above.

A power cycle can solve many issues, especially with a not yet stable OS, and apps not updated for it yet.

Power cycle didn't correct. When I noticed it heating up again and draining quickly, I decided to simply DFU and start fresh that night. Has been running fine since then.

I do realize that, thank you.

ETA: I wasn't suggesting the person typing accidentally hit A instead of M, but rather since they are not close together you have to consciously decide to go over here with my left hand or over here with my right hand in order to accurately articulate the message I want to send. You don't think in your head ("The Gold Master) and then type out GA. Either they refer to the GM as GA (i.e. the people he was sending out the email to will have a general access to the gold master to test their apps) or he was actually referring to the public general access. I was merely refuting the suggestion that it was a typo.
If you mean to type "9 PM" somewhere, but perhaps because it's currently morning and/or you recently looked at the clock and/or had to type another time previously that as in the AM, without really paying that much attention you end up typing "9 AM"--not because you think of AM the same as PM or because A and P are close on the keyboard or anything like that, just a simple oversight--that's a typo too.

So, for example, to someone that often refers to releases as "GA", when they need to write about some release that is "GM", they can easily accidentally without thinking carefully quickly type in "GA" as they are more used to using that term, and not even really catch it.

Again, not to say that's clear that's what happened, but given the overall nature and wording of that particular email, along with other information we've had come out about the dates, it's certainly a reasonable possibility, and it's certainly still within the realm of a typo in a case like that.

There's not much point to beta testing at this point in the game. It's too close to release and Apple is probably already getting shipments of iPhone 5S and 5C with iOS 7 installed.

Yeah, that's kinda what I think happened. Whoever typed that email simply got GA and GM mixed up in their mind. I just can't imagine Apple would ever release a GM before their big event. That would totally ruin whatever surprises they had in store.

"Never" is a long time. At any rate, I was responding to a previous poster who was assuming there would be. And with the ATV channel update today, I think it's safe to say there will be no hardware update in the near future.

Yes, I was. I think I remember reading that Apple employees are banned from posting in an official capacity. Identifying yourself as an Apple employee probably crosses that boundary.

Recently Nuance reported that iOS 7 will release September 10th, which could mean the Event COULD happen September 5th, as this would coincide with BGR's report about the iOS 7 GM being seeded to partners at that time. iOS 7 beta 7 may not come, but if the build number of the GM that BGR tweeted is REAL, we could see the GM as soon as next week, with the build number (11A465)

I can't remember the last time that AllThingsD/WSJ was wrong about an Apple event. They said September 10. Don't think it will happen before that.

It's normally 1PM EST, although it can and does vary. That would mean in 9 minutes.

Ohhh! Very exciting. Its like not sleeping the night before because my iPhone 5 is on the van out for release day delivery. :apple::apple::apple::apple:

Well any surprises that are exclusively for the 5S they will show it in the event.
