A strange thing happened last night. I was copying video files from one folder to another and I had the files highlighted and dagged them into the new folder. They copied into the new folder just fine, but the highlighted files stayed frozen on the screen. I had to restart Finder to get them to go away. Could this be a memory issue? I did put the Corsair memory into my computer, but it has been running really well. Aside from this issue, everything has been fine. Could this just be an OS hangup?

Which model of Mac Mini do you have? If its the base model with HD3000 graphics then I guess it could be system memory related. As you know the Intel graphics uses the system memory so I guess it makes sense.

If it happens again, I would try putting my original memory back in to see if the problem goes away.

I have the 2.5 base mini. it was a huge deal, and I didn't even think much of it until I was reading this post today. It has me second guessing my decision to buy Corsair even though I haven't had any isues. It just gets me thinking "what if" in the back of my mind. I just find it hard to believe the people that have had issues wasn't just related to a bad stick. With memeory it would seem that it would work or it wouldn't and after a few days you would be able to tell. Am I wrong?

Well yes, I would imagine that if you were going to have problems with ram then it would happen within the first few days of use.

As I said before, I just bought Crucial Ram for my Mac Mini (2.5 Ghz 6630m Model) as I have used Crucial Ram in my MBP for the past 6 months without any problems.

If you look though these forums too you will find that 99% of posts about Crucial ram are positive.

Yeah, I will buy Crucial next time. I didn't realize the skepticizm with regard to Corsair and it was $10 cheaper plus free shipping.

Well I have been having more issues with my mini yesterday. I was randomly off when I went to use it, it took forever to boot and in fact I restarted it because it was booting, I got a static-looking screen on boot up and had to reboot, and it froze the icons again while copying like it did before and I had to reset finder.

I ran Rmber when I first got the ram and it checked out, but last night I ran MemTest and it failed. Not sure how to interpret the results so I'll post them here. If someone could tell me what they mean I would appreciate it.

Also, is it better to pull the bad ram now or just leave it until I get my replacement Crucial ram?

I think it's time to send this memory back to Amazon and get the Crucial. Is this the right Crucial ram for the 2011 Mini? I wasn't sure because it doesn't mention 1333 mhz.

Because of this thread I had bought the corsair ram but then never installed it, and just ordered Crucial ram, and its working just fine.....Luckily I can still send back my corsair memory...crucial ram was still the same price so no point in taking the risk...

I didn't find this thread until after mine was already on order. Where did you buy the Crucial ram? What is the correct part number?

i've been running the 2x4gb corsair modules in the server for more than a week and have not experienced any problems or kernel panics. i wonder why so many people here have issues with them. maybe the modules are getting damaged when trying to get them out of their ridiculously tight plastic packaging.

I had no issue getting the memory out of the package, so that can't be the issue with mine. I wonder if half the issue is me psyching myself out because of all the issues others are having. However, I have definitely been having some strange things happen and those memory tests above don't make me feel any better even though I have no idea what they mean.

got my $10 corsair rebate in the mail. only took them 3 months to process it (slow!). memory still working fine in my mini server. never had a kernel panic, not once.

I put the Corsair 8gig mem in my base Mac Mini. Been running fine for a week now. Absolutely no unexplained issues.
