I would say that $200-250 is close to right, but only that low when the 5 drops. I only usually buy 32GB for myself. There are also more than likely tons of people who likely signed contracts all the way up til the day of release for iPhone 4 on vzw who won't be able to get a 4 even when the 5 drops for less than $500, at least brand new. iPhones all ways have a high resell value and it really depends where you live and how ballsy you are about asking price. From time to time instill see idiots on CL selling for $700 or above. I agree, that is crazy, but there are people who think there jailbroke white iPhone are worth that lol

When the iphone 5 comes out, you will still be able to sell the verizon iphone 4 for $200. Probably not any more than that as contract price for 16gb will still likely be $199 for iphone 5. So that eliminates those with contracts that are up for renewel, and only leaves a smaller group that still have 1+ years on their contract, or those who never want to have contract that will buy iphone 4.

No way! I just sold my beat to hell 3G for over $100 on ebay a few week ago. You're lucky to get a used 3GS 8Gb for below $199! The iPhone 4 will still sell for around $300-400 even with the iPhone 5 out on ebay.

What good is an iPhone on a crappy network? I say no, a Verizon iPhone won't be any harder to sell. In fact, I would think it would be easier.

Remember, your 3GS is a GSM phone and unlocked is worth a whole lot more than a CDMA verizon iPhone that can't be unlocked. You can basically use that phone anywhere in the world, not so much with the verizon phone. Thus you limit greatly those that will want the phone. Why would anyone buy a Verizon iPhone 4 for $300, when you will be able to get the iPhone 5 for $200 with contract? Now if it was an unlocked GSM iPhone 4, you could easily get $400 for it, not for a locked CDMA version.

Because if they're still under contract, they have to pay full price. Unlike AT&T, which gives people eligibility every year if their bill is high enough, Verizon doesn't really bend on that. So, when the iPhone 5 drops, there will probably be a lot of people willing to buy up iPhone 4s. Considering an iPod Touch, which has a much worse camera and no GPS, sells for more than $229 for an 8GB, the iPhone 4, with a much better camera as well as 8 more gbs of space should easily get more than that, especially if it is mint condition. I would guess that you could easily get $350-$400 for the VZW iPhone 4 when the iPhone 5 drops. The only thing that might hurt that is a low-priced iPhone 4 new, but again, people still under contract are stuck. Period. So they have to buy a used phone if they want the iPhone.

I'm glad to see some people talking reasonably about this. My first reply I was throwing low bids out there to be kind lol. I can say without a doubt that a 32gb iPhone 4 would still be able to sell for $400 regardless of carrier. As long as you have all accessories and box, shouldn't be a problem. Lowest I would go is $350. I've also found that for whatever reason you can literally get almost an extra $50-$100 just for having the box. People have told me that they think it shows that the person who is selling cares more, thus the phone has been babied and in better condition. The one thing they don't take into consideration is that inuse my iPhone multiple hours a day lol. I've probably, between XDA, Phandroid, and macrumors, got well over 1500 posts, just from this phone. Not to mention hours of music, browsing, thousands of text, tomtom, maps, twitter, I could go on lol.

I'd be more than happy with $450 for my 32 gb verizon iphone if I could get that when the iphone 5 comes out. I would switch to the iphone 5 if the antenna is better. Ironic that one can buy the 32 gb iphone 4 for $749 without contract. But you can buy under contract for $299, cancel, pay the $350 ETF and combined would still be $100 less than buying without contract.

Do you think that AT&T has to unlock your iPhone before it can be used overseas? How cute

Unless you want to dial an emergency number every time you want to make a call in another country (with Gevey Sim, which also might be illegal in the country you're in) or you've developed an unlock for the latest baseband and version of iOS 4 (which, to my knowledge, nobody has), you're limited to WiFi hotspots only to make calls when outside of the US on an AT&T. Hardly a solution for someone who actually needs a phone instead of an iPod touch.

1) You are not supposed to let the phone ring when calling 112. Simply dial and hang up immediately.

2) There is a baseband that can be used to unlock it (though it may not be a good idea).

Like I said earlier, despite the consequences to these options, some don't care.
Additionally, what you wrote (bolded) does not make sense. When you're out of the US, AT&T can make calls in all countries since it uses the more common GSM technology. The Verizon iPhone can also make calls outside of the US too, but in fewer countries.
