Carrier stores are a crap shoot. They usually have far less people but the stock they receive is incredibly unpredictable. 3rd party authorized retailers are even worse than that.
They had a silver 16GB. And the other two were space grey.do you know what color?
They're not keeping secrets; they just don't know how much stock they'll receive from Apple until they unload and unpack the shipments.I called 4 local corporate Verizon stores i have around me to ask how many 6+ they received last year. only one said they think a few of each. why is it such a secret? I just want to make sure they will have at least one of what i want.

It's store policy. If I said I had a 128GB and you quickly came down and I sold it before you got here, now you will be pissed.
i agree but if im 1st in line they cant tell me intill i walk in they said. at that time it will be late to make it to another store.
I know,it's also a security issue as well. If you know that a store has specific phones in you can break in and steal them. It's a reach for that reason but I guess I can see it.
I wouldn't give up if the first store is out of stock. Keep trying and you may get lucky and find a store that has exactly what you are looking for.i agree but if im 1st in line they cant tell me intill i walk in they said. at that time it will be late to make it to another store.
if im going to steal an iphone 6s i wouldn't care what the had LOL.
I know I agree. I always thought that was a stupid reason. The biggest reason is like I said before. When the iPhone launched last year our phones were off the hook of people calling, then racing down to find out we sold the phone, now we had to diffuse the situation.
Do you work at a store? is it a corporate store
I work at BeatBuy Mobile. I used to work for a corporate store before I got hired on with Big Blue.
when do the shipments come in? if i ask "do you have a 6s+ 64gb space grey" can they say yes or no?

I agree. From all that I have been told over the past couple of releases, the Verizon stores supposedly have ZERO idea what will be arriving, until the truck pulls up on Thursday.
What would that have gained you? Why didn't you just order it yourself?i had a buddy doing it for me that works at a store but i guess i didnt give him the right password and that fell threw.

i know but i know they get the shipment the day/night before. its not like santa comes in and leaves them in the back lol.
It's highly dependent on market size -- all of their retail stores will get some in, but the model lineup may or may not contain what you want (ie, last year, most stores didn't receive any in Gold units for launch), or the count may be low.
Here in Charleston, WV, I went to the Verizon retail store for the iPhone 6/Plus launch about an hour before they opened (I showed up around 7:00 AM for an 8:00 AM special opening time) and was the third person in line. Got exactly what I wanted, but by 8AM, that line was much, much longer and I'm sure they didn't get everyone what they ideally wanted.
