I have 54GB left on my iPad Pro 256GB but 93GB on my iPhone X. That’s due to movies on my iPad. So maybe 512GB on iPad Pro next gen might be an idea

But knowing my ocd I would need same storage on my iPhone as my iPad.

I have 4,689 songs on my phone (purchased legally since this has already come up), 469 videos and 31,405 photos. I still have 142GB free out of 256.

My next phone will be 256GB since I need the space. But I don't feel the need to go to 512GB. I have full photos on my MacBook, my iMac and in the cloud. Counting Time Machine, that's 4 copies of the originals, with one of those (iCloud) being an offsite backup. Given that, I'm fine with my phone and iPad having just optimized photo libraries.

Even though I have like 30 gigs free on my 64, I'd still like to see the base be 128 now.

I think it was shady of apple of only offering 64 and 256 for the x. I never use all my 256 but I needed a 128. I know tons of people that needed 128's and ended up paying for the 256.
This year I think they might drop add a 128 version since its the best imo

Hoping for 512GB here. I do not use any online streaming service for music so store it all locally along with all my audiobooks.

My only regret is that I didn't buy a 256GB X. Although I still have around 10GB free out of my 64GB X it would be nice to store all my music on there.

What's the point of so much storage on your iPhone. If your not backing it up to the iCloud you risk losing everything if something happened to your phone. Unless you do an iTunes backup very regularly, the iCloud is just peace of mind, plus its so much easier to setup a new iPhone from an iCloud backup. Also if you share your storage with a family members, that is very good value for money.

Now that 512GB is confirmed, I'm wondering how many people will pick up the 6.5" for $999 + $200.

I Can’t justify 512 GB of storage. Fact is, that’s just _way_ too much storage than I would need, I can’t even fill 128 GB, so this must be for really those who have loads of videos, media, applications and don’t offload as much. I think its great that Apple likely offer 512 GB of storage, but with that, certainly will come the price tag.

I'm hoping. Yes, I know there's cloud storage. I pay for Office 365 and iCloud. Sometimes, it's better just to have data on your phone. For me, it's mostly music and photos.

I'm guessing a 512GB iPhone X plus will be around £1250. Be interesting how much it will be.

I don't think that there are enough people that need so much storage for it to make sense and I really think that it will be a while until Apple increases the maximum storage option. It will rather happen when there's a use case or if suddenly all competitors offer that.

I have terabytes of locally stored live music (Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic, etc.) and I want to bring as much with me on my phone as I can so I can listen no matter where I am. I will use every gig of available space so I really hope there is a 512GB option. I will always buy the one with the most storage.

512gb is too much and most of the carrier's aren't going to buy stock, here in Ireland the new note 9 isn't available in 512gb and even the current X can only be got in 64gb, so there is no hope for a 512gb XS here with carrier's, there not stocking because they won't sell, people are just not willing to give that kind of money for a phone, it's not that long ago a flagship phone which had cutting edge tech as it does now was around the €600-650, it's gone absolutely ridiculous the prices there asking!

Introducing 512GB is a classic marketing move to encourage consumers to buy 256GB. When a product has three options, people tend to choose the middle tier if they're unsure of the storage they actually need.

Apple is expected to lower the starting price of the 5.8" iPhone but encouraging consumers to pay +$150 for 256GB will make up for much of the ASP.

256gb is good enough. What good is all that storage if it’s just going to sit there empty?

I'm currently using 228.8GB of my 256GB.

Personally, I would appreciate a 512GB option. And, news flash for those that are chiming in saying there's no need for a 512GB option and Apple shouldn't do one: just because the option is there, doesn't mean you need to avail yourself of it; just choose the 256 (or lower) option.

For the rest of us, a 512GB option would be sweet.
