Will you actually sacrifice work time to see the keynote?

I'll throw it in the tv if I'm working from home that day. If I had a job that the only way to watch it was to take a vacation day, I would never waste a vacation day for an Apple keynote.

Already taking it off. It just so happens that it coincides with the release of Destiny so I have two reasons.

I usually have Tuesday off so I lucked out and will be off from work that day. I'm able to watch from work, though so no big deal either way.

Really, on principle alone I could not take time off work to watch the launch of a phone. It seems like a disservice to my employer and (since I'm a teacher) to my students.

I would if I didn't already need to take that week off. I choose to make time to do things I enjoy.

^^^ I think that's what it comes down to.

Taking one day off for a keynote doesn't equate to omfg you need a life and your priorities straightened. I just got back from a seven week overseas vacation. Still taking the day off because I have the time to take. I work ALL the time so I'm going to do what I enjoy when I can.

Keynote will be at 7PM in my country, so I'll get home just in time to sit on the couch and enjoy it :)

Blogs do the job for me. I find that the first 2/3 of the keynote just goes on with Apple stroking their d!¢%$ about how much they have sold, how they have changed the world, how LOLworthy Android is, etc. etc.

I want to hear about announcements. The blogs do a really good job of getting that info out there (and for good reason, it's their paycheck).

The chances aren't that good for a live stream of the keynote
But if there is a live stream I will watch it and since it's 7 p.m. in Berlin that's no problem. :p

I fail to see your point.

The iPhone is just a phone and thus is not important enough to 'take time off' for. I'm sorry I don't follow the hype, but I think it can wait if they announce it while I'm out. It's not going anywhere.

If they didn't do that, then their keynotes would only be three minutes long at most ;)

Not to be a downer, but I think it's a little much to take off work for something like this. Nothing earth-shattering will be announced or debuted, just updates and more functionality. It's not like they have re-invented the wheel or discovered the Higgs Boson... they're updating stuff that already exists. I don't buy into the hype personally.

Not a downer, but a voice or reason. If one wants to take a day off that is fine but got better things to do. Every second will be rehashed over and over so you will miss nothing. I love Apple but take a day off for two hours of advertisement? NOT!

I work in tech, so I'm pretty sure it will be on just about every monitor at work anyway. Even if I wanted to avoid it, I couldn't.

Same. I consider it part of my job to stay on top of the latest tech news, and events like this allow me to see what's coming up so that when our leadership wants a new toy, I can quickly inform them of what's out there.

Soo, you are working for Samesung?
Just kidding :D:p
