Will you actually take off to watch the keynote?

If I remember correctly Apple streamed the past 5 events or so, there's always a direct link on their main page during such events
They didnt stream the iPhone 5s event last year.
Think it may have been a limitation of the venue.

Sadly, no. The 5s event wasn't streamed but the video was uploaded on Apples homepage shortly after the keynote.
No need. "I won't be coming in on XX day". Maybe it's different here but I don't need an excuse as long as I have the time owing and let them know in advance.
Having said that, the keynote is on at 1am here, so my taking the day off isn't purely for that lol.
I usually take the day off for Keynotes. Although, this time, I am undecided if I will or not. I never make excuses, I just say I'm taking the day off and if asked why, I tell them it's an Apple Keynote day! Then they roll their eyes and call me a nerd or something like that.

You should! If it's true that the iWatch will also be revealed then it will be one of Apple's biggest event in its history. Also I heard about a mobile payment service via NFC for the iPhone 6

Well, I'll see. There are circumstances beyond my control that may require me to be at work that day... but things could change.
So you can form a strategic assessment to update management on how the iPhone 6 will be a competitive advantage for your company; and how you will lose sales if you didn't update to an iPhone 6 immediately. # </tongue in cheek>

I'll be in school. Of course, I'll be waiting for Apple to load the iPhone 6 webpage so I can read it in class.
Not a downer, but a voice or reason. If one wants to take a day off that is fine but got better things to do. Every second will be rehashed over and over so you will miss nothing. I love Apple but take a day off for two hours of advertisement? NOT!
Yeah. We live in a world where people geek out over advertisements. It's what Comic-Con is about, it's what keynotes are about... I mean companies tease the release of movie posters and trailers or new phones or new products. I stay away from it and frankly find it a bit ridiculous that people buy into the sensationalism. People may say it's harmless but I think we can expend our energy on more useful things than going berserk over ads.
I'm from the UK, so keynotes usually start at 6pm for us!
Having said that, this year I'll be in the Caribbean, which is think is only 3 hours ahead of San Francisco time, so I'll be taking my iPad and earphones to the bar (leaving SWMBO to watch Game of Thrones on her iPad!) and watching everything unfurl at the comfort of the bar!
[Edit] - Apparently we'll only be 2 hours ahead of San Francisco time, so I'll be at the bar for 12pm.

So does working from home. Just fire up the Apple TV and set my status to either "in a meeting" or "do not disturb", and Bob's your uncle.
Besides, I’m a salaried employee who carries a pager 24/7 for support issues. Trust me, my company owes me at least 2 hours of comp - even though the time will most definitely be made up within the week.

No... I wish I could. I asked my mom to pick me up from school at 12:30 for WWDC. Then she told me a ton of **** about me being a bad student. It's not like any learning gets down after 1:00 on a apple keynote day. I just pull out my phone and read the macrumors comments on the thread made. I also throw in my own comments and question.
I would never waste a vacation day to watch a keynote. I'll likely just have the MacRumors liveblog open while working.
