I mentioned it before, I think if Apple had the AirPower released before the holidays, it would have been a really nice accessory for those who were considering it if they had the iPhone X or 8 alongside the Series 3 Apple Watch. But since nobody knows about it , it might be a very strange reception pending when they release it. To me, it only makes sense now to release it along side the new iPhones in 2018, and why release it during such a odd time during WWDC 2018.

Let's hope they don't hold it til then, that would look pretty bad to be like "LOOK WIRELESS PHONES!" in 2017 and "HERE'S A WIRELESS CHARGER FOR THEM (COMING SOONISH)" and then not release it until a full year later.

I'm still thinking it'll be WWDC now, but I guess there's still always that chance they do a press release/silent release as soon as it's ready to ship, because I kind of think at this point it's clear it's behind schedule so they may just release it as soon as it's ready.

guess we will have to wait for sources to say it's passed through something leak wise. Rumours were it would been announced with new ipad but clearly wasn't the case so it must be close you would think.

I think WWDC is the wild card for the Airpower. Last year no one expected the iPad Pro’s to release and that surprised many. So its still possible and hopefully the wireless AirPod case. Apple works in mysterious ways to say the least.

With rumors of red phones tomorrow, let's hope airpower and the airpods case are released tomorrow too...

I bought two generic USB C charging pads from Amazon for $15 each. Bought them months ago when the 8 Plus came out. They have worked flawlessly.

The prices Apple charges for some of it's stuff is staggering. If it does go for $200, I could buy another 10 generic pads for every room in my house and still spend less than the Apple charger.
Well I see your point no other stand could charge your phone or another phone plus the apple watch series 3.

this only makes sense if you have the iphone/watch/air pods in fairness.

would make sense if they do...fingers crossed

I think if Apple updates the iPhone 8 with the product Red, I can’t imagine that be the only product that they would update, as what not a better time to release the AirPower alongside a phone that can take advantage of the AirPower, and of course the wireless charging AirPod Case.

Well it seems that's what they did, come the F on Apple.

I think it might be useful.

I'll wait to see what the cost will be and what the final feature set will be... Some Apple products are no-brainer for me. For example, I bought the HomePod on day one. Others, I wait to see... like the Watch. I bought it six months later at Best Buy and mostly because it was on sale. Love it, but wasn't super sold on it on day one.

This company completely confuses me, and sometimes, I think that’s what Apple wants. I don’t think they want to be predictable with anything they do with their product lineup, software, and how this company is organized. But given the Airpower was announced September of last year, and they have no marketing whatsoever behind it, I’m not sure why they even decided to announce it this early, unless there is some type of manufacturing complication that is holding it back. However, very strange and I think there something more going on here, but we will obviously never know.

There seems to be manufacturing problems with every product now.

AirPods are a great example of this. Because they were set to launch in October 2016, but were initially delayed when Apple never stated why, until Tim Cook actually responded to an email from a customer, stating the AirPods were to released very soon without a reason, only to leave speculation with a manufacturing concern. Finally, Ifixit did it break down and speculated a manufacturing concern as well.

Look at the HomePod for another example, delayed initially, as it was supposed to launch in December 2017, and then did not launch until February 2018, also rumored to have manufacturing concerns.

No matter what, Apple won’t tell the consumer why the delay with the Airpower or any Product, only to leave speculation and then perhaps respond to a customer email providing a vague timeline of when to expect the product to launch as it nears.

What on earth are you on about?

I spend my money how I wish thanks

My company gives plenty to charity’s but thank you for being so concerned with those kids
The point is, there are much bigger things to complain about than whether a stupid charging mat is delayed.

The price & flat design will urge me to look elsewhere.

Right now, my only wireless charge device is the X, so I'll just need an angled wireless charge stand to use for overnight charging bedside the bed.

If it's an adjustable angled wireless charge stand then it'd be perfect.

Let's do this, Anker.

It should be $69 and that would be still much for a charger.

And yes...all Apple chargers are overpriced. They earn more in % on the accessories than on the devices.
