Oh...no night mode? Bright screen when I used it this morning.
You are all to obsessed with looking at it instead of listening. I have my iPhone attached to the side window and switch screen off after starting TBT. It switches on when there is some action to perform and I notice from the corner of my eyes, but never found it in any way distrurbing.

I didn't get any spoken street names when I used Google Maps this morning going to work. This is a big problem for me since I do more listening than looking when using turn-by-turn. I'll be sticking with Navigon or Waze for now.

I'm sticking with Apple. I have not got lost using Apple maps so far. I like the design better than Google, I like turn-by-turn with Siri, and showing the navigation in the lock screen.

The only issues I've had with Apple is the lack of POI's and wrong information for them. That said, the restaurant thats on my street is in the wrong place on Apple and on Google. The Walmart in my town is wrong on both Apple and Google as well.

Will probably still use Apple Maps for navigation to an address, it hasn't failed me yet, and Google for POI search.

And Navigon in the US so I don't get raped with roaming data charges.

im supporting apple maps for as long as i own an iphone. its a much more aesthetic and pleasing interface and its integrated into the rest of the software.

ive only had one issue with apple maps and i reported the problem, 2 weeks later and the issue was resolved

im going to continue using apple maps and help them improve as much as possible.. and this is coming from someone who owns the tomtom app as well

The search function is really first class. Search "pubs near Covent Garden" and they pop up on the map. Swipe left or right to go between them, seeing name and rating, swipe up for more info (photos, streetview, etc) and to plot route.

Beautifully done :)

I thought Google Maps displayed the navigation in the lock screen too?

Shake to submit feedback also a lovely touch.

The more I use it, the more I discover I love it!

I think it is different for every person...I am very limited as to where I feel it is safe to mount in my vehicle. But a very dark interior driving in the dark, it is a distraction.

It is a common complaint with Apple Maps as well.

I haven't experienced any problems with Apple Maps yet, in various US cities. I downloaded the new Google Maps last night for comparison. I definitely prefer Apple's cartography and the app interface. The turn-by-turn experience is nicer on Apple, and I also like the OS integration and Siri integration. For my preference, Apple has created a much better looking and functioning maps experience. That said, Google's POI accuracy and detail level is more mature and reliable. I'll keep using Apple Maps, and if I'm going somewhere super important, I'll probably at least check the destination accuracy against Google before leaving. If there's a discrepancy, I'll use the Google app. I do believe Apple is working hard, and that they'll tighten up their accuracy quickly, and that people will become very confident in their maps.

turn by turn says it is still Beta - there should be a time limit on how long Beta - how many years was gmail and SIRI?

On the bike I'll be using Google with my phone.(Not while driving)
In my Yukon I have a built in Nav system so I'm good there also.
I tried using Apple maps the other day and had to turn to the Google web App.

That's a weird feature. Shuffling songs in the music app makes sense, using it to report bugs is odd. People complained bitterly about how to report problems in Apple maps. Is this somehow more intuitive?

Guess I'll stay with Apple.

I tried using it at 6am this morning to get to work, it's so bright that it's distracting.
