After a long and anxious wait, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already swayed me away from the IPad 5 with his predictions of more DPI in next years model. He mentions that the upcoming retina display found in the 2nd gen mini will not change next year. So it looks like I may be siding for a Mini as i would hate to buy a 5 and than see another dramatic change in the display next year.

I use my iPad 4 mostly for surfing, watching movies and YouTube and playing a few games.I can't see how the release of iPad 5 is going to affect the performance of my iPad doing those things so I won't be upgrading until my 4 can't cope with the latest version of IOS which I predict might be another 2 years.

Can't decide between a new mini or going full size. I think the new form factor will tempt me with the new full sized.

 future proofing??? You did not buy into that whole addressing 4g?

The 64 bit is relevant now.
I know it's relevant now. Where did I state otherwise. All I was trying to say is that after getting burned in the past with buying "new" apple products that end up QUICKLY being left off the update cycle, I'm a more informed buyer. Because of that, I believe this 64bit machine will be brought along the update cycle WAY longer than any current 32bit offering today.

So yes, iPad5 for me, because I know Apple will support it a lot longer, simply because of the innards.

If it weighs the same or less than ipad 2 -- yes.

I have ipad 3. The weight (actually the distribution of the weight and center of balance) makes it awkward to hold after a while. And I use it for reading books (via kindle app).

If the ipad 5 is as predicted -- thinner, lighter, more power, i'll buy it over the mini. I have the great nexus 7 2013 that covers extreme portibility.

Voted yes, but it's qualified. iPad 5 must be at least as light as iPad 2 but have similar battery life as the 3/4. If it comes in at iPad 3/4 weight or life is under 8 hrs the I'm sticking w/ my 3. Weight is my biggest issue, not thickness. Hopefully slimmer means lighter.

with the lighter new form factor, upgraded camera, 64bit A7X, I will lean to buy iPad 5.

But I tried iPad mini and it's so nice and convenient to use. So ultimately I might need to try both iPad 5 and mini 2 to decide.

Yes even thou I have a Mini I'd like a larger Ipad for mags and comics, will only get a 16gb thou as I can use Dropbox to move comics to and from the device and I don't need a large amount of space.
