I’d goure serious about deleting them and not hoarding them (not judging I just know some people feel like they can’t delete anything), just download Flickr and let it back up to the cloud in the background while you’re sleeping. Then just wipe all of them from your phone in one shot. I plug into my Mac, select them all in image capture, and delete. Takes a matter of seconds to delete
Lol, I can't do this with my mom. She needs all her photos on her phone and I don't quite think I'll be able to teach her how to use a third party app.

That said, it's mostly the videos taking up tons of space so those are the only things I've had to actually offload (although even that was a hard bargain, she didn't want to delete anything!). Now my life is so much easier with iCloud Photo Library and Optimize iPhone Storage. It even automatically syncs between her iPhone and iPad so she doesn't need me to do that for her. :D

My only issue is I don't like putting photos on cloud based services just due to bad experiences so I have a hard backup on both pcs and my phone. Plus I have 256, might as well use the space.

DO NOT DO IT ! unless you're a school going student with hyper limited budget and in need of "unlimited" data for watching crazy YouTube videos 24/7. I made that mistake last year and couldn't wait for my contract to end so that I could switch. Absolutely horrendous coverage and snail speed. Bear in mind, I'm in London where every network should perform their best. Also, appalling customer service.
Wow thanks for that
Was actually going to sign up with them on a sim only deal....
Is the coverage that bad because a few people who are on three...have said it's really good...what part of London you from?

I'm with Vodafone but leaving...I find them too expensive and my bill is always high with them.
I was looking at 02 but I've heard 02 isn't great and their data is slow...

O2 have the best signal because the frequency they use can penetrate into buildings the best. In my area Three claim fantastic service in 4G, I can only get half bars on 3G in my house or my area, EE have the fastest network if you can get a good signal.. I was with them until they switched off some transmitters in my area, and I went from good 3G and could get 4G to barely 3G anywhere.

But I use Tesco mobile who use the O2 signal and on 4G full signal I can get around 50mbps down and 20mbps up on the Speedtest.net app.
I live in North Dorset though. O2 only advertise good signal mainly, yet they are the only network I can get 4G on in my area.

What you need to do is what I did, ignore all the bs marketing, get yourself free pay as you go SIM cards from all the providers and test them out yourself, you don't have to pay to see the signal strength either, but you can if you want to try them out. And then you'll know who's the best one in your area :)

That's true
I think in London EE is generally the best but their sim only's can be quiet expensive....
In London 02 are supposed to be not great...slow speeds apparently
Are you on a Tesco contract?

I'm in west London. Three in my area is absolutely horrendous. O2 / Tesco has been the best in my area but since having moved to EE, I haven't really faced in black spot area at all and also the speed is excellent. I got a limited sim only deal with them which was really good value for money. Keep checking their website.

Are you on 02 or EE?
I'm in west London as well and sometimes north
I am debating between EE and 02....

I used to be on o2 a few years ago, then was on Tesco for sometime, then three for a year & now on EE.

Choose whoever gives you the best deal. Both are good in west London.

curious to hear if people are ok downsizing from a plus model to the 8, i understand the screen to body ratio is better on the 8 but i’m not sure i would like the feel of a smaller phone, will there be an 8+ model in the future one would hope

Why would you like to carry a huge cumbersome device purposefully?!

Yes, for me it's all about the screen size and the iPhone 8 is rumoured to have a 5.8" display but in a smaller body, I don't mind that at all.

I wouldn't. I bought the iPhone 6+ for close to that amount, won't do it again.

Recently got an iPhone SE 128 GB for 300 euros, and very happy with it. YMMV.
