I am eagerly awaiting the release of the 7.85" iPad and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are. The current models are already extremely portable and lightweight, so I am interested to see how many others feel the same way.

Will you purchase the smaller iPad, or are you already happy enough with the current model?

I'd love to have the smaller iPad, I've had all three so far.

I'm sure it'll be useful for some people, but between my iPhone and my iPad, I don't have room for a smaller one. Especially consdering it'll be the same thing as my current iPad just a little bit smaller.

Yes I probably will depending on Price and available sizes available, wifi only thou I already spent extra for 3g on my IPAD3, I wish they would offer this as a default feature and not an add on.

Yep. Would be the perfect size to bridge the gap between my iPhone and MBA.

Same here. My Apple ecosystem is complete at the moment. I don't need a 5th device to do exactly what the rest of them already accomplish in another size.

I've not got a iPad, a small one under £200 would be rather nice.

    No, I won't. Can't see much use for a 7" tablet.

Yep, perfect size for me. I read/surf and take a lot of notes on my iPhone, on the subway etc., but the iPhone always feels just too small. A regular iPad however is too big to pull out on the subway, in my taste. A smaller iPad would be simply perfect.

I think it's a great idea, but no, I'm happy with my 3, and don't really see the point in owning both....I think Apple will have a hit on their hands though, if the pricing is right.

    Yes. There's a good chance I will.

I'm still using my iPad 1. Very happy with it. That said, I wouldn't mind a smaller version provided the screen has the same (or more) pixels.

    I'll get one for sure.

    1. I can't resist any apple product.
    2. I can see a lot of situations where it would be convenient to carry around a smaller device than the iPad 3.
    3. It's cheap enough if the rumors pan out to make it an easy decision.

I will not buy one, but I hope this thing is for real. Go Apple. I hope they sell a zillion of them.

I generally like the size. I recently got a Samsung Tab 2 7" for my husband, and I quite like it. However, as I do a lot of PDF reading on my iPad, I need/want the larger screen for work purposes.

    In a heartbeat

I've said on other threads, but I will absolutely buy one. I have to travel with an MBA, so I want some weight savings, but a 7" would be perfect for me.

Travel a lot myself. That would be a killer combo: Macbook Air and 7" ipad. No more trying to stuff an unyielding laptop bag under the seat in front.

I would love a 7" iPad, but buying it will depend on the specs.

No. Not useful for me. If anything, I'd like a slightly larger iPad.

Having said that, I'm not against Apple making a smaller iPad. Different people have different needs.

Don't need. Don't currently want. But if it comes out, I will surely buy.

    Damn you Apple.

Since I have a MBP and an iPad probably not. But my wife might like one so maybe for her.
