if windows 7 phone is cheaper then will be more users using win7 phone instead of iphone on a mac. that doesn't apply to USA, only for europe users.because of the iphone price. in europe theres no such thing as getting an iphone for 200€ even in contract. the best you get is 300€ in portugal for iphone 4 and 60€ monthly. so yes in portugal a lot more people are insterested in windowws 7 phone. however, i don't own an iPhone, currently i own a nokia n95, but when my nokia dies i will be moving to an iphone :)

Competition = Good

I wouldn't know whether the Windows phone will be good or bad--I'll take a look when I get the chance. I'm skeptical, for sure. But I like the idea of competition. It couldn't hurt to have another OS pushing Google, Apple, and RIM.

Am I reading this correctly? This will sync media, but not contacts and calendars? That's a non-starter for me. But if I'm right about that, I would have to assume that M$FT would include that capability in a future release.

My dream is for Apple made one of these applications to just do sync.

Then iTunes can go back to being a Music player. Maybe let it do podcasts as well.

And they could build a very good Movie player to bring together the best of iTunes, Quicktime X Player, DVD Player and Front Row.

What a waste of resources.

Portugal seems very expensive!!

The UK has much better prices than that. You can get the iPhone 4 for 160€ on a 40€ contract, or 43€ on a 50€ contract.

So in the UK it doesn't really make much difference!

It's only a matter of time before Apple puts a stop to the iTunes synching like they did to Palm..

The problem with Palm was not the syncing but the fact that they used a trick to make the Mac confuse the device with an iPod.

Well, that's why apple is sucks. If you say so, safari, iTunes, QuickTime should not allow to run on windows even it us open source. MS has a right to do. But usually it is not happen. Everything which help windows or MS is welcome unlikely ****ing isolated mac os x.

Good.

But I can't imagine too many Mac users having the Windows Phone over the iPhone.

But for the people that do, this is nice

It might to the more avant garde among us. When I fist got my iPhone on launch day, people would ask about it, either they had heard of it but not seen it or had yet to be touched by the hype machine. Now...EVERYBODY with a pulse has an iPhone, and some without (e.g. Tony Curtis).

Mac users are nothing if not trend setters. I could see many getting one just because.

Grammar/spelling check please?

Not trying to be mean, but I can't understand what you said.

Yes!! My problems are solved!!!

OMG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!11!!!11!

I can't wait to try Microsoft's failure wrapped in a fake iPhone!

Does it come with Norton?

I don't understand why anyone would rate this as a negative. I thought that having more options is a good thing.

To reasonable people, yes. Having more options is a good thing for reasonable people.

However some people are utterly closed minded and will not even consider trying anything other than products with the Apple logo on it.

Let them do whatever they want. The rest of us, lets ignore them and have a meaningful, rational discussion.

....

I mentioned it before, but there is iSync, and the developer tools do come with an iSync plug-in maker. Now that is the extent of what I know about extensibility with iSync. It finds my Motorola Q9C via Bluetooth although it says that it isn't supported. Makes me wonder what the limitations of iSync are.

I took a quick look at the plug-in maker. One of the limitations appears to be that it will only sync Contacts, Calendar and Tasks. I would half expect that Apple would want to control the sync process and would expand iSync's reach. I'm not even going to suggest that they open up iTunes to third-parties.

Stop hating the choice! No one forces you to use Microsoft products!

;)

Living in society forces them to use Microsoft products more than they would think/like. :D

That is unless they are a bum living on the street staying clear of POS registers, ATM's, Redbox's etc.
