The manufacturers of such all show the phones without a case. One manufacturer (seen on Amazon) even stated the phone must not be in the case while charging. Others state the case must not be thicker than 3 or 5 MM.
If I must remove the case, that would greatly diminish the benefits of wireless charging.
My iPhone X is excepted in 10 days and I’ll be using an OtterBox Defender case. I contacted OtterBox and they say they tested their cases with all of Apple's recommended wireless devices and all their cases passed testing. Of course, what I don't know is the testing criteria. So while the charger still “works", perhaps it does so at some diminished capability???
And thus to my questions:
• Are there wireless chargers that will work without compromise, even while in thick cases?
• Are there certain specs I should look for?
