docsis 3.1 is going to really help get closer to that 1Gbit up/down, and glass fibre projects for rural areas are becoming way more affordable for private companies and more and more cities are believing in being connected properly.
 
Really? If I had full access to my 300Mbps connection on the apple TV, then all download times would be cut in half. Maybe you don't value time, but I do ;)

You obviously don't value your time enough to upgrade your router...

AC routers aren't that expensive.
 
...and if Gigabit comes in the next update, the same people saying "what's the point" and "you don't need it" will be here hailing it as "awesome to have! Way to go Apple! The best gets better!", etc, etc.

I love Apple stuff, but the lengths some people will go to defend every single thing they do is so nauseating.

aTV4.1 will have Gigabit and Optical ports and probably UHD, although we don't actually need any of them today :D
