I need a new iPhone. My iPhone headphone jack is broken and the software is slow. :(

But the iPhone 6 is gigantic! And I´m talking about the regular one. The iPhone 6+ is like a mini tablet.

The iPhone 6 won´t fit into my trousers pockets (I´ve tried), even without a case and I always want to use a case with iPhones.

So what to do? Wait until Apple makes a smaller iPhone? Is there any rumours that iPhone 6S would be smaller?

iPhone 6S = iPhone 6 Small. :)

Actually I think the iPhone 5 is too big as well, but at least it still fits into my pockets, barely.

I think the iPhone 5 screen is perfect size though and 16:9 is the right ratio, but the bezels would need to go.

I also think these big phones is just a fashion trend and Apple is following it and making some money. I seriously hope that this trend goes back to smaller phones. Big phones are kinda douchebaggy in my opinion as well. It always looks ridiculous when someone pulls a 5" or bigger phone in public, I just want to palmface.

Much as I wanted an iPhone 6, Apple's refusal to provide a means to globally enlarge all text meant the expenditure would be a waste. So I retired my 4s and bought the Google Nexus 5 during its last month of production. Shifted my iCloud info over to Google and now my Macs and Nexus sync perfectly. The Nexus 5 is sized between the iPhone 6 and 6+. All my required apps were available on the Play Store.

I have been a Mac user since the 512Ke but Apple's design choices of late are mystifying.

YMMV, of course.

Apple's refusal to provide a means to globally enlarge all text

Unless you count zoom mode, which globally enlarges all text, or the text size setting which allows you to globally enlarge all text then yes, they completely refuse!

I agree. But this move to gigantic phones was not really a surprise, ´cause they are just following a trend and want a piece of the trendpie. I was just very disappointed in Apple that they decided not to give any options for people who think big phones are douchebaggy and cumbersome to carry around.

I´m 100% sure though they will make smaller phones again when this stupid trend blows over. I just wish it would be sooner and not later, since I need a new phone now! And I don´t want an Android phone! :(

There used to be a time when Apple wasn´t following stupid trends and walked their own path. That was when Steve Jobs was alive, but I guess those times are gone. :(

What kind of pants are you wearing for a 5/5S to be barely fitting in them lol..

Just regular jeans.

makes no sense, my 6 plus fits into my jeans pockets entirely, sometimes i will wear slim fit jeans and sometimes i will wear slightly baggier jeans. the pockets of the jeans your wearing must be extremely small for a 5/5s to barely fit in there

The six isnt big. Im really bony and the six+ fits in the hand. When my upgrade is available I'm getting the 6+ but thats just me

Ten weeks in and my 6+ feels perfectly normal now.
We can adapt to pretty much anything.#
If the size worries you so much, wear a jacket or carry a bag.

I agree. My 6 felt big for about 2 hours. Then seemed normal. The 6 actually isn't that big. Just looks that way at first. You'll adapt.

Really? You think they're "douchbaggy" when you judge others based solely on their preferred device size and expect Apple to conform to your preference versus what the majority wants?

So what to do?
Use whatever works for you. If you want a smaller IOS device then there's the 5s. If sticking with IOS isn't a priority then you have a number of other options as well.

I don't mean this to sound derogatory, but are you a woman? None of the pants that my wife wears have actual functional pockets, so this I understand. I easily fit a 6+ into all of my pants pockets.

The bezels aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I did recently pick up a used Moto X, which is only slightly bigger than the iPhone 5/5c/5s. It's a pretty nice phone!

You can think that all you want, but the big screen iPhones are selling better than previous iPhones. Samsung, Motorola, HTC and LG have been selling large screens for quite a while now and they've been gaining market share.

You will...

Same here, I held it at the AT&T store for about ten minutes before I bought it, kept my iPhone 5 and turned it on after a day or so.

I wear skinny jeans and I could fit two 6's in one pocket. I don't know what the hell you are wearing

Everyone thinks it enlarges all text, but it absolutely does not. Test it out and you'll see.

If you have owned an iPhone 5 or 5S, the iPhone 6 is not too much bigger, certainly not 'gigantic' in comparison. The iPhone 6 is 15mm taller and 9mm wider than an iPhone 5 and to be honest that doesn't make a world of difference. You will notice the increase in size, but I very much doubt it will be a problem, it hasn't been for me or anybody else I know. The 6 Plus is a different thing altogether. That device is a lot bigger than previous iPhone's and I have heard quite a few complaints about its physical size, but then again its a lovely device to use. Horses for courses.
