Wish I could get a new iPhone, but the iPhone 6 is too big! :(

I´m a normal sized 
man and the iPhone 5 already is bulking from my jeans. It looks stupid. iPhone 6 would look even more stupid and it would be hard to walk with it in my pocket, let alone sit in a buss or coffee shop, in fact I would fear it would probably break in half when sitting down.

Same here. Just average build. Anything taller than 5S and I wouldn't be able to sit.

Just kidding. I am I'm pretty good shape, and I can't stand tight jeans. I tried a cardboard cut out of a 6+ and it looked ridiculous on me, like "is it a 6+ in your pocket or are you happy to see me" ridiculous. Plus, I could not sit down comfortably with it.
The 6 is pretty big, but's doable. I heard all these comments about "you will get used to it". I still don't get used to how much bigger the 6 is compared to the 5 in my pocket after 2 months, so I am glad I didn't get the 6+ because there is no way I could get used to it.
My advice is that if you are unsure, make a cardboard cutout to the thing to the exact dimension. Carry it for a while. If you feel like an idiot after a while, you know what's right for you.

I don't think you're a normal sized man wearing regular jeans if the iPhone 5 is already bulging from your jeans.
It's certainly not too big. It feels better and better the more time you have with it. It obviously felt bigger than I was used to in the beginning, but after a week or two it felt fine.

Im a normal sized man and my Note 4 fits in my jeans no problems, The ip6 would easily fit in ANYONES jeans.
I agree with the OP. The 6 is too big and the 5S is getting on in technological age. Hoping for a 4 inch 6S alongside the 4.7 and 5.5 inch phones.
The 6 is too big for full one handed use, which is the majority of my iPhone use.
The way I see it is that the 6/6+ are too big to be practical phones for me. They are also too small to be practical iPad replacements.

I need a new iPhone. My iPhone headphone jack is broken and the software is slow.
But the iPhone 6 is gigantic! And I´m talking about the regular one. The iPhone 6+ is like a mini tablet.
The iPhone 6 won´t fit into my trousers pockets (I´ve tried), even without a case and I always want to use a case with iPhones.
So what to do? Wait until Apple makes a smaller iPhone? Is there any rumours that iPhone 6S would be smaller?

Just get a 6! It is so weird and lame listening to people complain that the iPhone 6 is too big. That is absurd. We can barely surf the Internet and read what's on the screen with a smaller phone. So if you want something small and continue getting eyestrain, then go ahead. If all you do is make phone calls on your phone then a small screen would be just fine. Smaller iPhones are really lame now. I have an iPhone 4 to use for work and it's so slow and tiny I can't stand using it because it's so small compared to my 6+

It´s like wearing big over the ear headphones like Audeze LCD-2 in public and screaming to everyone "hey look at me I gotta big iPhone which is so cumbersome to carry around, but who cares, ´cause I´m cool, ´cause I jumped in the Apple´s latest "big phone trend"!!!" *facepalm*
There´s a reason why there is headphones made for mobile use (small) and home use (big). Same goes for phones or any devices.

Does anyone understand here what the word "mobile" means? MOBILE phone. iPhone 6 isn´t very mobile.
Agreed. The only thing it lacks is NFC, but you can do that via the Apple Watch. It pretty much offers the same experience as the 6 performance-wise.

To put it into perspective, if you have this issue with both phones then it means you can't even fit your hands in your pockets. That defeats the purpose of a pocket. The iPhone 6 is smaller than the average mans hand let's not forget.
I'm 5' 8" and weigh 67kg so I myself am an average size man. I wear skinny jeans and have no problems with an iPhone 6. I could understand someone with a PVC or Lycra fetish having trouble, but not in normal circumstances. Neither phone (5 or 6) is that big. The 6 Plus is a different story.

You seem really concerned about how others look at you. Both of your pics are extreme exagerations of reality. Nobody wears earbuds anymore!
I wear earbuds, well IEMs most of the time. They are small and mobile.
And I couldn´t care less how people look at me. I would feel cumbersome and douchy with big phone or headphones with me, even when there wouldn´t be anyone around.
Just common sense.
I've had my 6 Plus since they came out and as I tell people "it's getting smaller". You actually get so used to it, that it shrinks in size. I put a Neo Hybrid case on it and carry it all the time in my slim fit jeans or in the back pocket of my slim fit Dockers not problems and no the phone hasn't bent!

I realize that it really is too big for some people, but I think for most people they'll adapt. I had no qualms about my 4S, but now I could never go back to it. It feels like a cracker and the 6 seems normal. The Plus still seems large, but it's for a different audience.
As for the argument about the 5/5S being too big. Eh, I guess it can be, but it's the same width and just slightly taller. I don't see how that is a dramatic jump, but for some people I suppose it is.
IMO, anyone who thinks the 5/5S are too big really doesn't need a smartphone. They're tiny.
OP have you considered an iPhone 4S with iOS 5 or 6? With those operating systems you'll have a great fluid experience.
