I would like something liek the feature in Ask the DJ where it crossfades beats really well between songs.

Also I am so ADD that I would love a feature that played the middle 30 seconds of each song and cross beat into the next one nonstop!

Also, why not integrate DVD playback as well as TV viewing if you have a TV tuner hooked up.

Also, a way to find duplicate songs and deal with them easily.

Also a visualizer with album art.

The ability to sort playlists non-alphabetically.

The option to not have videos play when playing the entire library on random.

Direct voice recording.

Improve video playback. Maybe some sort of filter that improves the quality of iTMS shows in full screen, that smooths it out.

#1 iTMS request: ability to redownload music ( a la audible.com)

this is porrly written cos it's 3 am . goodnight.

1&2, good luck with these when we dont even have proper gapless playback

3 i doubt this will happen, there is already dvd in front row, and you can always hope for pvr capabilities in the next major release or front row

4 there already is in "edit"

5 whats wrong with the current visualiser?

6 just click on the the field you want to sort by

7 video management generally sucks, i believe there should be seperate video and audio sections, for now use the search bar (in the edit menu)

8 why on earth would you want this?

9 really they should just have better quality downloads avaliable

10 if your hard disk goes bad or something you can always speak to support and ask them very nicely, ive heard they let people download their paid for music again

An "Add this to the queue" button/option. When I'm halfway through a song, I often find myself already looking for another song to listen to. Wouldn't it be ace to be able to add this to a queue to play...and then add another, and another. I know you can do this in Party shuffle, but each time you add a song it goes to the TOP which means you rarely actually hear all the songs you "request"

Uber

You can still Add to Party Shuffle, which adds it to the bottom. Set the "upcoming songs" to 5 or 0 if you don't want to wait to hear them. You can add songs past this number, but it won't automatically randomly refresh it for you until you get below it.

I'd like to have the option for having a Shared Users library that is automatically combined with each users library. Not only would it save disk space, but it would allow a library that is safe for the kids to use.

I want to be able to link the same song file to multiple albums. If only one thing is added to iTunes 7 that's all I care about.

i agree with all of yours exactly, except number 6 because that works just fine for me. i can burn 80min cds with no problem.
Yeah, what's up with this? I've been able to burn 80min CD's for years.
I have no idea... I've tried it using my old Pismo with an external CD burner and my current iBook G4 using both the internal and two different external burners, covering Mac OS X 10.2 to 10.4... but iTunes starts "yelling" at me somewhere between 74 and 75 minutes... with lots of different media... and even Toast (5 and 6, given up and haven't tried with 7) refuses to go over... :( &

I'm not quite sure what you mean here, but I think it might be the same thing I'm looking for. Why isn't there a way to copy songs from computer to computer within iTunes? If I've authorized my AACs to play on two different computers, I should just be able to copy them onto one master computer, so my main computer has all my music. Make sense?

I'd like a 'U2 filter'. Whenever I tried to load something awful into iTunes it would just spit the disc straight out.

Note that you can also drag the songs around in Party Shuffle so they play in whatever order you want them to once you've added them to the list...

Personally, I'd like to see iTune 7 handle "multiples" like collaborations, duets, etc... better as Mitth did earlier. One thing this would help with is connecting atists who may have recorded under various names. (e.g. Stewart Copeland recorded solo projects under the name Klark Kent when he was still with the Police)

I'd also like to see the individual track listings rolled up to albums, artists and playlists. So if I have an album of 10 songs five rated 3 stars and five 4 stars the album would automaticaly get a 3.5 rating. This would make it easy to find top rated albums, artists and playlists. Manually assignig a separate rating to the collections of songs as grizzlybrice suggested above would be an option too.

  1. Simple editing of tracks - e.g. to seperate the secret song into a seperate track and to cut (rather than just set the end point) a track down to size. You can use Garageband for this, but it's a hassle.

I'd like to see this also, it's bloody annoying! Also being able to merge tracks after they've been imported into iTunes, rather than having to do it before you import the CD.

While not super simple. you can use mp4box to cut & join M4As.

Cuesheet integration, both in iTunes and on my iPod. I have some hour long sets which I'd rather not break into single tracks.

one thing I've been wanting

I didn't see anyone else mention this but this is something I've been wanting for a long, long time. I would like to be able to color code the songs in my itunes library so I could tell at a glimps what Genre/Band/or decade the music is....
IE. I could list all my 80's new wave songs in "Hot Pink" and all my Blues tacks in... well, "Blue".

I dunno, I think it would be pretty cool and simple feature to add to itunes. I've seen the same sort of color coding in other mac apps in the past.. although I can't recall which ones.

p.s. - This is my 1st post here. I hope this hasn't already been covered.

It should support FLAC and SHN at the very least, and TTA and APE ideally. =\

(and if the iTMS had > 128k bitrate, I might consider purchases there, even if I had to pay a bit more).

Hear hear!!! Both to support of lossless non-proprietary formats, and to increased bit rate files for sale at iTMS. Grateful Dead sell FLACs at their site.

I want the Playback menu (i guess that is what it is called) to be able to be customized to scroll Composer Name or other features if so desired. (This is mainly b/c i play "classical" music, and the composer is often more pertinent to see than the performing group.

I think you can choose that in the "options' menu.
(yup, just checked)....It will add a column for Composer,
:) then you can just sort by it.

I know that (and thanks for looking) but in the playback window that looks like a LCD screen, i want the composer name to scroll past. I already have the composer shown in the column view of iTunes.

I'd like the ability for, when importing CDs, iTunes to be able to automatically detect long lengths of silence, cut it out, and split the before silence and after silence parts into 2 tracks. What annoys me greatly about hidden tracks, is the silence is a waste of space, and it makes it difficult to listen to the hidden track. You can set the begin time to later, but then you don't get the main track.
