4TB is not enough, this post was published on Oct 2020 and still Apple offers only 4TB max iCloud storage.
With 4K videos, RAW photos and backups they need to offer more iCloud storage.

With Google One you could have up to 30TB of storage but the issue is that live photos are not compatible.

It's extremely annoying considering we are in 2023 and apple also advertise the whole "family share". I'm roughly 85% usage rate, and I know it's just a matter of time before I go over. I was just looking at the Apple One for the other 2TB. It looks like I'll be playing extra $10 a month for the Apple Music, game, News and whatever else junk they are trying to push that I don't plan on using at all.

Completely agree. I just used the work around that was posted in 2020 (attached), but I had to remove my last older childre in order to add my original itunes account to the family share (which has my personal email that I had before getting my icloud.com email). That's another issue I have had with Apple - I have 7 kids and when my younger ones got ipads, I had to kick off the older kids (HS & college age) so that I could manage the ipads. I wrote a letter to Apple and also talked with tech support about the 6 person family limit. I even went so far as to suggest that I would be OK with using some method to verify that i indeed had 7 children and was not trying to share my purchases with friends.

Anyway - just recently hit the 2TB limit with our current devices (3 iphones, 5 ipads, 1 iMac, 3 macbooks) and I alone have over 1TB of photos/videos in my icloud account. Getting to the 4TB is a pain in the ass since I can't combine my icloud with my itunes account. Still not sure if this is gonna work.

I’m fully into, but only because of the ecosystem. And this won’t work anymore when I hit the limit. While I’m cloud only with all documents and photos it’s just a question of time that forces me to switch to Google with more space. As a result, all Apple products will be replaced. It could be that easy to keep people… there’s no reason for not publishing bigger packages. 4K/60FPS HighRes easily fills this…

It's funny your issue is another one that is often not addressed. I don't have that many kids. But I buy and upkeep devices for my parents. But between my parents, and my own family I'm already hitting the total user limit Unfortunately, the plan will be to ask my sister to establish her own icloud 2TB and I'll have to switch over my parents into her account. It's extremely annoying for a paid service.
