Concealed carry. Done.

/thread

Yea unless you are like that idiot last year in Kentucky that pulled put his shirt to show his gun while in line at the apple store. 5 minutes later there were 6 cop cars there and they pulled their guns on him. He got taken to jail.

Right. That's not carrying concealed, that's brandishing. He deserved to get arrested. One of the first rules of concealed carry is that you never expose your weapon unless you intend to use it.

I have to say though, as a Canadian, the amount of people here in this thread who carry guns is somewhat shocking. I don't think I've ever met a civilian who carries a gun. I know maybe a handful of people who own one, if we're talking hunting rifles.

You'd be surprised. Most people who own guns and carry concealed don't say anything or give any indication they're carrying. That's the whole point of concealed carry.

Nah, I'm pretty confident that most of the people I encounter aren't packing heat. It's not that no one in Canada owns guns, but it's a very different culture here in that regards. I think the fact that Americans had to fight a war against your former rulers to win your independence had some lasting cultural effects that persist even now. The whole bearing arms thing is part of that.

I'm not familiar with gun laws in Canada, so you're probably right.

The whole bearing arms thing is part of our constitution. Some of us recognize that some of our own countrymen are trying to abolish certain rights afforded to us today, just as much as when we were fighting for independence.

I am doing a store pick up this friday... not to be paranoid, anyone else concerned with the issue of getting jumped if someone wants to steal the phone from you? walking from the store to the parking lot is a long walk.

Nope.

The alternative is to display a nervous twitch, occasionally glancing up at the sky and muttering something incoherent. Punctuate that with an occasional shout like, "GET OFF MY BACK!!! I heard you THE FIRST TIME!!!" Folks that do that usually get a whole lot of leave-alone.

So basically come off as a psycho

I hate pranks like that

Yep, there's a line at which something crosses over from being funny to just plain harassment. A fuzzy line maybe (and depends on the subject) but that one was WAY over it. I remember seeing another one once where people were in a lift, and there was a young girl concealed in a secret door, with makeup to look like she was a ghost. The lights went out in the lift, and when they came back on she was just standing there looking super creepy. Sounds great on paper! But in real life, people get freaked out to the point that they're lucky someone didn't have a heart attack. There was also possible risk to the young girl's safety, because you just can't predict how someone that scared might suddenly react. Not worth the risk I think.

Wow, after reading this thread, I'm picturing a bunch of people lined up with their faces painted and looking like they are going into combat when they get their phones! It will be like a Seal Team 6 mission at the Apple Store! :)

Or the prankster will get hurt

Haha I know right team l33t

Loving the armed circle jerk here. Must suck having a tiny penis....:D
Right, being able to defend yourself and others instead of cowering, if you're lucky, and waiting for others with guns to show up and help you must be evidence of compensation.

Christie wishes it could produce projectors of your magnitude.

All this talk of concealed firearms is so foreign to my culture, it's really quite surreal! But hey, don't let anyone stop you guys from enjoying your Second Amendment. The thread might end up in PRSI if we get too serious with it.

I'm not against possession of firearms, it's every citizen's right to do so.

There was also high demand for previous iPhones but no one was paranoid about getting jumped.

Yea previous releases I ordered for delivery since those are my best option and fastest way to get em. This time fastest way to get is launch date pick up. I think this is my first launch day ownership for an iphone.
