Apple should start working on iOS/iPadOS apps ported to macOS. I don't see any popular apps on macOS as many developers blocked it.

I wish that it happens, (but what about the macs? Will they get cannibalized?)
Better to be cannibalised by your own product than somebody else. But it is still very much in the gimmick/power user land over in Android. They already have a "pro line" of phones, I imagine it could be a feature they restrict to one line to upsell you on the model that inlcudes it. "IF" things go that way.

Apps that stay alive, or at least that can keep a network and alert processing thread running.

Expanding the partial data privacy feature used for photos and HealthKit (where apps can’t tell the difference between limited access and little/no data to steal) to other user data

Allowing users to falsify their localtion as presented to apps, on an app-by-app basis (so perhaps with an exception for blessed covid apps). At least within the same country (to make it harder to use it for geoblockign evasion).

allow separate landscape and portrait wallpaper pictures

Portrait lock that excludes video, that’s it. Give me that and there’s not a single thing left I want improved in iOS.
Landscape rotation lock too, for reading in bed or on the bus
Unified timers between iOS, watchOS, tvOS and iPadOS.
Multiple timers would be nice too:
You can have multiple simultaneous alarms, but not countdown timers.
I want Safari to actually work correctly with http and self-signed certificates. Http is not dead and not everything on the internet requires security.
I’d like it to fall back to treating certificate errors like it’s a plain http connection, or possibly offering a warning, rather than trying to get you to either give up or permanently accept the certificate. On macos you can use a bookmarklet to temporarily accept certificates (for the session), but that doesn’t seem to work in iOS.
The mental gymnastics being performed by some asking for less privacy invasion while also asking for app side-loading is hilarious to see.
I’d like to install a non-broken version of discord, or roll back to versions of apps that had better features, or have a better latex editor, etc., plus I don’t want to spend an extra $100/year to un-cripple apps I wrote myself.

I also don’t want to be spied on by Apple or whoever else.

If that means accessing Facebook when I have to via a Firefox container because the app has even more privacy violations, then so be it.

I want Siri to say less. Much, much less. Especially on HomePod.
Sorry, I can’t agree. I appreciate Siri talking to me, calling me by name etc. But mostly I want to depend on it to do the things that it’s supposed to do consistently. Whatever happened to being able to search your photos with Siri? not to mention other functions that have disappeared.

  • Stability
  • Always on Display lock screen, requires iPhones with ProMotion OLED display for battery life
  • Focus mode enhancements, such as contact and app presets, allow all notifications (if alternate home screen layout is all you want)
  • Family Shared iCloud Photos Library
  • $4.99/month for each additional 1TB iCloud storage
  • Extensions for Mail
  • Redesigned Calendar app
  • Optimize Storage for Notes
What would those mail extensions do?

I'd like to see a renewed focus on Apple Home/Homekit. It's surprising to me that more functionality can be uncovered by using a third party app like Eve compared to Apple Home app. There is so much that can be improved upon for Home/Homekit - lots of potential!

I’d like to see more screen effects in iMessage. Also, I’d like Siri to be able to tell me the pollen count without having to deal with short cuts. Not everybody wants to be able to customize stuff. I would also like for her to be able to announce severe weather or flood alerts etc. Alexa does a superb job of this, and don’t we think that Apple could do it too?

air play that works without having to reboot the ipad and apple TV all the time. Bonus points for an option to completely disable speaker grouping in the UI.

Support for an apple-made wireless carplay dongle

have spam text blocking flow across devices - if i've blocked a spam text on my phone, don't want to see it on any of my devices (e.g. nomorobo)

have it NOT default to 'sync when plugged in' to the mac.

have all ios dialogs support password managers (including the setup ones)

fix faceid on the ipad so it works in landscape mode reliably

fix search so that when I type in 'appstore' it actually finds the appstore app

preventing a website from hijacking my PIP video and stopping it. Bonus points for completely blocking all auto-play videos in safari

and omg, please, delta updates and split out the built in apps. No more downloading multi-gigabyte full overlays for every dot release.

I've given up on asking for a Siri that's not brain dead.....

Universal shut down between all devices. Screen time is OK, but what would be more useful to me is if I could set all devices to shut off / sleep after 10pm for example. It's less about screen time of specific apps for me, more just needing help shutting down/ putting devices away.

It sounds like you need to look at Shortcuts and automate this yourself.

I would like to be able to switch OFF the ability to drag down the top of the screen so that only the bottom half is used. This is SO annoying when it happens accidentally when fast scrolling up. I have NEVER needed this function.

Are you talking about Reachability? I think it used to be under Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Reachability.

Thank you SO much. This has been driving me crazy. As usual, Apple got there before me! I have read extensively Apple's and third party 'How to’ publications, but I don't remember ever seeing this switch-off mentioned.

Does anyone have the problem in safari when you open a new website, toggle over to a different site, but then when you go to toggle back you can't find the old one?

I think what's happening is it is placing the original website thumbnail somewhere way back in history of when it was first opened/created, and not sorting the thumbnail list of pages by last use.

Yea it's nice for her to speak more humanely, but I just want her to do what I ask the first time. What is there to work on to turn a light on or off, and why can't she just play the movie I word for word ask for the exact title of??
