I've never used an emoji or have a twitter account so I apparently have a life, unlike those that waste their time with this drivel.
Came here expecting to see lots of folks outraged again, about yet another mention of emojis. Was not disappointed.

Or, y'all could just skip past the story when you see something about emojis, instead of clicking into the story, clicking into the comments, and excitedly writing, yet again, to let us know you don't like emojis. Give it a rest - we know you don't like emojis (I'm not a huge fan of them either, but I don't let them ruin my day, because, you know, I have a life).

I've never figured out what the big deal is about emojies. If you embed them in a text on the iphone, they are so ridiculously small that my 63 year old eyes can hardly even make out what they are - and that is with my glasses on!

This is the most loquacious report about nothing I have ever seen on a commercial tech site since the release of WindowsME.

(I didn't read past the first par. I just looked at the pretty pics.)

Newsflash: Language invented that can express any thought using only 26 unique characters. Known as "English", this language can be used in place of other languages that use pictographs or emoji, which require thousands of individual characters, each of which expresses a whole word or phrase. It has been said that English has the potential to be used anywhere in the world, including those places where indigenous people groups do not have access to the tools needed to send emoji. More news at 11.

I can't tell if you're intending to deliver this monologue with a sarcastic or serious tone. If only there were a pictograph that could be easily inserted to indicate the emotion of your statement :D

A bagel without schmear is not a bagel. It's round toast or something, but it's not a bagel.

I wish there was a downvote button.

No one allows down votes because we have taught everyone through school that criticism, unless politically correct, is reason to meltdown. Nobody hears criticism until college, then its relatively biased, so most don't even know how to handle it.

Stop investing time and money on these dumb emojis and start engineering ways to bring back the headphone jack...

Yeah because you know, billions of R&D is allocated to this, with an army of engineers and project managers...FFS you guys looks like a bunch of grannies, don’t like it? Don’t use it, it’s just a standard implemented across all the devices were some designers make their salary and some folks have fun using them.

I’m so sick of this mainstream “I’m too pro to like emoji” bandwagon. You really apear childish which is kind of the opposite of what you are trying to apear.

Still waiting for an off switch for emoji.

Or a way to use it where it isn’t treated as a full keyboard you have to cycle through.

Adding one foreign language keyboard on top of everything else turns it into an even clunkier experience. I can’t imagine people who write in several languages trying to get to emojis quickly and back.

Emoji are updated by an international committee of some sort and is a standard, Apple just has to include the latest with new versions of their OS. Google does the same as well...course beyond Pixel owners few on that side of the fence get exposed to this constant updating / addition.

Apple does do such a good job rendering them though.

And why won’t those darn kids get off my lawn?!

Absolutely classic keys - made me laugh. That original post was definitely the definition of the pot calling the kettle black (since the person was wasting their time posting in an emoji thread on MR...).

Lol. That’s pretty funny. Well, funny if you don’t see it as “racist.” I always stuck with yellow because I don’t identify with race when it comes to emojis— to me they’re just simple shorthand for emotion—and almost always used to lighten things up anyway. I “indentify” with LEGO yellow I guess. Haha

While you're at it, bring back the rotary telephone! Stop with these touchpad nonsense!:D

All of the best headphones (and when I say all, I’m speaking about at least 500 models) “still” have cables. Just because Apple’s iDongle earbuds are wireless doesn’t change the reality for 99.999% headphone users.

There’s no connection to rotary phones. We’re no where near reaching the point where wireless headphones are as good as wired, let along active users. Unlike the color of body appendages, this is actually annoying.

Especially on a $1,000 iPad Pro.
