This is why I said time and time again that iOS needs some sort of grammar checking mechanism to prevent stuff like this from happening.

For me the list is just a few that I can think of at the top of my head.

Many = Manu
New = née

Yes apple, because someone like me definitely uses those words on a daily basis! Gah!

Yeah really freaking annoying.

Or how it physically will not let you type Yo or alot.

iOS 5 actually fixes ALOT of these problems, I've noticed. Especially with the ability to add words to the dictionary.

AMD = and

a lot more

I just want to switch it off.

iOS 5 fixes all of this: :)

-You can enable spell check but disable auto-correct
-You can add words to the dictionary
-You can add shortcuts to the dictionary
-Overall autocorrect and typing is better and easier

If I type in iOS perfectly fine, sometimes it leaves it alone, sometimes it changes to Ops. Why does it do this if I'm typing it perfectly fine?

That is a good improvement but it still lags way behind the rest of the world.

As for keyboards that I feel have it right I would point to Swiftkey for Android. That one as a great way for auto correct and learns from you (just like iOS in theory does) but it is a lot easier to over ride the autocorrect than on iOS.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_8 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E401 Safari/6533.18.5)

To = TI

So annoying. When I'm typing fast. I always think I hit to and I miss it and it chooses TI!

"me" corrents to "mr"
"the" to "thr"

Up until iOS 5, it's been pretty crappy, but iOS 5 fixes most of these problems and I've added custom words for others it still has trouble with.

I hate iOS auto correct so much I switched it off. Not having the spell check is a bummer, but I prefer misspelled words to wrong context words.
