Working on HDR/HD recording on iPhone 3GS(UPDATE November 8))

No joy here... even after a reboot.
Still getting 640x480 video.
I see the text about HDR capture in the Photos settings, but it does nothing.
The download only contains the .plist files... you still need the frameworks to make it work.

did you copy all the files to their right places and replced them?
i know the HDR string does nothing right now, but i'm working on the mod

You also had another error in the readme that needs fixing...

wow, quite surprised you got this working. Was it hard to do? i wonder why noone else has managed to do this in the 16 months the 3gs has been out.
i started since limera1n came out. looked all the plist files through, and tried to understand them. in the beginning it was so confusing where all these numbers and things were going. and the last 2 days i have tried to tweak the uploading presets to MobileMe, Youtube, because they sucked before, i haven't tried them after i tweaked them.
so the next big thing is HDR so it will be the next project
great. it's much easier now when you have something to compare the settings with from the iPhone 4
I also found out that you can toggle the auto focus on and off with the key
The 4.1 AVCapture.plist under AVCaptureMode_AudioVideoRecording doesn't have this key, only 3.1.3. It might work to make the 3Gs record at a 16:9, if you think the auto focus is causing the problems.

The camera on the 3GS is capable but needs a lot of light.

Back when this thread was about HDR (title AND first post have since been edited) I said that this guy would never get it to work. I've yet to be proven wrong. Don't worry, it won't happen.
Everyone knows you can make an iphone record video at different resolutions. Saurik did this for the original iphone years ago. Big whoop. The thread was about HDR, which the OP has failed to get working despite dubious experimentation with editing .plist files

Fine, just ignore the fact that my "trolling" was expressing doubt in his ability to get HDR working since he's obviously a script kiddy who just learned how to edit a plist. This thread has all of a sudden turned into "OMG I CAN RECORD HD VIDEO ON MY 3G S!!!!!!11one" which is something that people have been doing for quite some time before this thread came along.
Please, everyone keep posted on the progress of something thats already happened. You don't want to miss out on 2009 news.
