I did exactly as described and with the updates that rjohnstone mentioned. It did not work for me. I got 640x480. I'm using a 3GS with the latest OS update and Limera1n. I tried restarting my iPhone to see if that would do the trick and it's been stuck on the Apple logo screen with the "spinning timer thing" overlaying the Apple for about 20 minutes. It's frozen and not loading anything. I've tried resetting/restarting multiple times but it isn't happening.
My phone is doing this as well. I had to put it in DFU mode and restore.
I've got a brick here too. Pulled my download.

I used the OPs file on the first post. Brick central.
It doesn't brick your iPhones if you make the changes manually to match the modded files. You should never just simply drag and drop a modded file into the iPhone file system. Make all the changes yourself, so you know what gets changed.
Interesting... he must have changed something in the zip file from the first version.I used the OPs file on the first post. Brick central.
Should read as follows:Copy and replace existing files from ¨Celestial¨ to /System/LibraryPrivateFramework/Celestial.framework/N88
Copy and replace existing files from ¨AVFoundation¨ to /System/Library/AVFoundation.framework/N88
What utility did you use to diff the plists? Command line diff doesn't show anything because plists are binary.

Would help if we had a list of changes

does anyone know how to use vfdecrypt. can anyone pose exactly what i should type in terminal?
OP why don't you just decrypt the firmware? Download the firmware to your Desktop and change the extension to ZIP and extract it. Then download VFDecrypt and unzip it to your Desktop. Once you've extracted the iPhone firmware files, locate the 018-7063-114.dmg and drag it to the Desktop. Now open up Terminal and type in, without quotes, "cd ~/Desktop" enter "./vfdecrypt -i 018-7063-114.dmg -o decrypted_fs.dmg -k 2ab6aea67470994ec3453791ac75f6497c081edd1991e560a61dd666ac4b73f43c781739". When done you should have the decrypted iPhone 4 4.1 filesystem in a dmg labeled decrypted_fs on your Desktop. At this point you can delete the other files you downloaded.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)
It tells me something when I try to do it

vfdecrypt -i 018-7063-114.dmg -k 2ab6aea67470994ec3453791ac75f6497c081edd1991e560a61dd666ac4b73f43c781739 -o RootDecrypted.dmg
Just one other thing... i keep hearing this strange click noise when "tap to focus"... do i have to be concerned about it??
No... you can drop the new ones in over the existing... just back up your originals first.so you can't just change the plist-files but have to edited the original ones?
