Just tried GeForce NOW. Easy setup. Could not test it though. It said waiting for a free rack, you are number 450 in line. After 4 Hours I was still at 180. If you pay 30 Euros for 6 months you can skip the waiting line, but I won't pay without knowing if the game works on the service. Well I guess I will have to fire it up at noon and check back in the evening to see if the game is playable.

Man the GeForce Now free service sucks. I was number 480 in line when I started the app this morning and it went down pretty quickly. Now after 7 hours I am down to 110. One hour ago I was 130 in line. I guess the closer you get the less people quit the line so it moves down slower and slower. I may be waiting another 6 or 7 hours?

It sounds like it's worth paying for a month to try it out.

Yeah, that was my plan actually, but the one month tryouts are sold out. Next option was a six months plan.

Anyway, after 12 hours I got in and had an hour to test it. There are some flaws like using a windows keyboard, having an US keyboard layout instead of a German, and the screen size was somewhat small. I couldn't get it to display my native 2560x1600 pixels and since it was something like 1200 or so high the pixels looked blurry. Now the speed was incredible, I had constantly 40 or more fps in the highest settings! To be honest I could not see any difference on the scaled down screen so I played in very high settings with 80 or so fps.

So if I can find out how to set the screen size and keyboard layout correctly I will use it until hopefully Codeveavers decide to port the wrapper to my M1.

There is much less monetizing, at least it seems that way in WoWS versus in WoTs. I don’t feel nearly as much pressure to buy a ship as a tank. :)

Yeah you don't need the premium ships in order to play good. So to still make you pay they put all those nice paint jobs and extras to make the ship visually more appealing.

That has mostly been easy to resist although I have purchased some premium ships as credit makers only and did pay $20 for a camo on the premium ship the Japanese Ki, not because it was pretty but because it made the ship such a credit maker.

Anither observed note is that in WoWS, in the 7tier and up range, I usually make $100-300k credits (gross) per battle, it’s easy to do 80k damage. With my play style I usually come in middle of the pack in damage output for the battle. While in WoTs making 50k credits or up in a battle is on the higher end for me. There are just not as many opportunities in a typical tank battle to deal damage and stay alive.

WOWS 0.10.0 is here and it still works on my M1 MacBook. Wonder how long the wrapper will be supported?

In WoT recently they were actually selling tank camo for like $50. 🤢

January passed and the game is still playable through the wrapper. Strange.

Over the years I have invested more $$ in WOTs than any other game, probably $1k, yet I am threatening to quit it for good. WoWS on the other hand I get frustrated with random teams, but I’m getting enough positive experiences to keep going with it in some limited aspect. When I win a battle I keep playing. When I lose, I take a break until tomorrow. :)
