300$ reduction is a very good price drop and you can expect many more once the 12 line gets actually released. If iPhone 12 has 5G of any form, the carriers will be actively promoting them at the same time trying to get rid of the old 4G iPhone stock, which is the entire current range.
However, I seem to remember that one of your previously discussed problems was the current OLED tech. If it is still an issue for you, you might be better of waiting for iPhone 12 release and actually trying them out. I bet you will want to anyway, despite what you think about them now, as you have tried 11 Pro already and know exactly what to expect. 😊
