We’ve talked a few times about this lol. We both have our “phone issues”. That said, were so very close to the iPhone 12’s being released and I know you have an upgrade in your AT&T account so I think it would be better to just wait and if you don’t like any of the 12’s (which I’m not sure I will yet) then get the other SE and your granddaughter will still have her phone.

I have told myself FINALLY after all the back and forth this year... remember I started the year with an iPhone XS, then went to an iPhone 7, iPhone XS (again), iPhone 11, iPhone SE 2, iPhone 11 (again), iPhone X, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone SE 2 (again) and now I’ve decided that I am holding this SE 2 until the new phones are released and then I’m making my decision. The worst part is that I still have the iPhone X and iPhone 11 that I could switch too, but I’m tired of switching my SIM card and my wife believes I am outright INSANE 😂😂.

So while $300 off seems like a good deal I think for now you’d be better off waiting. Just wait until we see the 12’s and if you don’t like them I’m almost sure the 11 pro may be cheaper than now or you still have another SE 2 to fall back on at that time.

I realize I can’t be a whole heck of a lot of help when we have basically the same type of issue, but I can try lol.

I use to be like that but was more buying using and selling for profit and fun, bit of extra cash for tech too. Did it all last year, since i got my 11 pro on release i havn't swapped once, except a few weeks ago only to try a SE which lasted 4 hours.

Yes we have talked about this. And I have been content with my SE - that lower price tempted me for a minute.

It was a fleeting thought, so I’m over it now. ;-p

Oh yes, I understand because honestly to me I love the size of the 5.8” iPhones as well. I just have issues with OLED displays just the same.

We have basically the same feelings in the XR/11 as well.

I really honestly wish that Apple would have released the iPhone XR/11 with a 5.8” display with an LCD. I would have definitely liked that device a bit more.

I’m also hoping that the OLED’s on the 12 series has less PWM issues for me. However if they don’t I’ll remain content on my SE for a while longer.

I do however believe that neither yours nor my phone problems are over 😂. I feel like the 12 series will get worse on us even if we don’t realize it yet. As of now I feel like the 5.4” one will not have enough content shown. I feel like it will show content closer to the 4” iPhones than the 4.7” ones, but we may be surprised.

For now I’m with you and very content on my SE. I’m so content as well because my kids iPhone 7’s are now believed that they’re iPhone SE’s because the front looks likes dad’s lol 😂. The joy of 7 and 8 year old kids.

I take a fair amount, but I pare down duplicates then store on a flash drive. I have no interest in saving tens of thousands of digital photos. My faves get printed or go in books.

This is great. I’m glad that people still do print out photos and out in photo albums. This is one thing I miss about my child hood. My mom making her nice photo albums and scrap books. People really do nowadays miss out on some of this type of stuff.

This brought back memories for me. Today’s times people take photos and they stay in the album on there phones and they are forgotten about.

Well, i hope I never go through this indecisiveness over a phone again. I surely never have before. I had only ever returned one device to Apple in my life before this spring, and that was the XS Max. I guess I made up for that. ;-p

I love doing books/scrapbooks. I don’t do a lot of paper ones anymore because it’s just more than I can keep up with, but I use my digital pictures to make books on Shutterfly and places like that, and I print the ones I love for framing. I see no reason to have 10s of thousands of photos I never look at. To me that is no different than boxes upon boxes of old film pictures that never get flipped through. I typically go through them shortly after taking them and only keep the best ones, then every month or two I upload what I want to Shutterfly, or put it on a drive.

I do have a lot of catching up to do with my books over the last few years, but I’m gonna hopefully sit down and work on all those in the next few months, or at least after the first of the year!

You’re right. I mean I didn’t really have what I’d call a lengthy trial period with the 11 pro - more like a couple days in which I was scared to use it too much because I didn’t have a case.

The thing is, I really did like the 11 pro because of the size - perfect middle ground between the 11 and the SE2. I just wouldn’t spend the money.

You’re also right about letting myself be tempted by a “deal.” I’m trying to get away from that mindset with the phones, and I’m perfectly happy with the SE.

LOL pretty sure that isn’t gonna happen.
Your thoughts are the same as mine. Size is spot on and perfect.

The 5.4 in comparison to the SE2 isn't actually too much different based on what I've seen. In fact its all screen compared to the SE.

The 11pro is my overall choice right now but I'm not ruling out the 12 mini yet.

But aren’t you still paying for the new line?

This particular discount did NOT require getting a new line - it was for an upgrade on a line you already had. That’s the only reason I considered it, although I have not done it as of now. I’m still trying to hold out for the 12s to be announced to see what I’d like to do.

I’m still really loving a lot of things about the SE, but the struggle is real for me with the typing. The zoom seemed to help when I first started using it, but not so much anymore. I think that’s definitely gonna rule out going smaller, so I’m either gonna be looking at the 6.1 12s if they’re lighter and maybe slightly smaller than the 11, or I’m gonna do a discounted 11 pro.

Honestly, I can’t imagine the 12s will really be any better than the 11 pros - the 12 pros might, but I’m not paying that much for a phone.

I don’t get why people have to use their phones one handed. If you use both hands like I do, you can reach anywhere on the phone.
Same I like the big screens, so even with bigger hands, one handed wouldn't work for me. Plus I don't want to drop it and can message and search the net way faster with two thumbs. But I am curious, do they like to use their other hand for other stuff or what?

Im leaning towards the 12 as well. Probably the 6.1” but I’m not ruling out the 5.4” just yet...

The iPhone SE is good I love it, but the 12’s are definitely starting to interest me lol.

There’s more than enough situations for me to use phone 1 handed with no glitches especially at my job where I spend 8-10 hours a day and my lifestyle

I suppose most people here work desk jobs and / or don’t have lifestyles that makes 1 handed use more convenient.

I thought the same way until I had to go grocery shopping with my brand new 6+. After that painful experience (I actually dropped the phone on my sandaled foot), one-handed use jumped to the top of my requirements.

The 4.7" iPhones still require some maneuvering but not nearly as badly as the bigger phones.

I have the iPad when I don't mind using two hands and that's got a much bigger and (to me) more enjoyable display than the current biggest iPhone.

11 pro is easy To use one hand.

I found that to be the case when I had one for a few days. I always use Loopy cases, and it enables me to use even larger phones one handed (well, never tried a max with one, but I could use my 11 most of the time one-handed). It’s one of the reasons I’m still toying with getting an 11 pro. I am pretty certain I can’t go with the smallest 12, even though I’d love to (can’t imagine I’ll be able to use the keyboard easily since the SE 2020 is already a struggle), and I don’t really want to go back to a 6.1.

I was surely hoping we’d have the announcement today.

From comparison pics, it's looking like the new 6.1" chassis is smaller than Xr/11 and is fairly close to the 5.8" X/Xs/11 Pro.

I did notice that in some measurements I saw on here last night. The aluminum would be a plus, as the stainless just adds extra weight, and doesn’t benefit me since it’s always in a case. I’m also not positive I’m interested in the squared off edges, especially in a larger phone. I just don’t know. I’m ready for next week so I can just make a decision already.

Worth it? Depends on you. At this point, you’ve gone back and forth between them. Up to you to decide. I think it’s worth it. If you don’t have a problem with refurb I would check Amazon renewed. iPhone 11 Pros are already going for $300-500 off. Mine came looking like it was fresh out of the plastic. I’m a big fan of the renewed program thus far.

11 pro is hardly any bigger then the SE so one hand use is mute, it's just heavier. They all are if you want a bigger screen and battery. It's actually easy to use one hand with fid and swiping v pushing the old button.

Well, this post is older, and I decided to wait until 12s come out to decide, so I should know more in a week I suppose. I’ll probably still just do it through ATT with the discount because I don’t have to make a new line or anything. Of course that depends on if they still have this offer after the 12s come out, but I’m assuming they will.

Yeah the 5.8 really is a great size. It’s a good balance. I couldn’t really justify it at full price, but the $300 off made it tempting. I’ll decide for sure what to do next week (I hope). ;-p
