Would installing a Jetdrive SSD revitalize my 2011 Macbook Air?

I have a base 2011 13" Macbook Air that I've had since new (that I love). Its currently running El Capitan (after experiences with later OSs caused me to revert due to performance issues). It is fairly slow and some basic tasks seem to take a while. I've wiped and reinstalled the OS so its pretty fresh.

I'd love to keep using the computer for a while to come if possible and while I know that OS updates aren't going to keep coming (which I'm fine with), I'm wondering if putting in a Jetdrive SSD will increase the performance of the laptop enough to make it very useable. A 240gb one is reasonable in cost. I can't really upgrade anything else and have heard that more modern SSDs have given a performance boost. The question is, how much?

Anyone have experience with putting a Jetdrive (or other SSD) in their 2011 Air? Was there a performance increase?

The MacBook is going to be limited by the speed of the sata bus. I doubt swapping the SSD is going to provide much of a performance boost.
Interesting. I've actually heard the opposite, that the Jetdrives and other SSDs are actually quite a bit faster than the one that shipped in the Macbook Air and that the sata bus isn't the limiting factor. Just wondering about personal experiences.

How much ram do u have? If 4gb i suspect this is the bottleneck and ssd won’t help. Check activity monitor and report
