Truthfully.. I love Google and OSX/Apple.

If IOS had more google apps + easy Jailbreak (only for tether on my unlimited plan) I would be back on an Iphone.

My S4 has a nice screen & I NEED tether & google apps.

Your carriers are to blame not Apple. I have tethering in only data plan with any carrier and any phone in my country.

Nope, until they ease the OS more, not gonna happen.

May be in 2020 once they merge OS X and ios completely and the iPhone is no longer crippled for someone who refuses to use it the apple way.

I would rather buy a wp8.1/9 phone or bb10.1 device than the iPhone running ios 7. Why? Lets compress it all into "still doesn't work well with me".

More than likely, yes. I love all of the customization options of Android but I'd trade it for iOS' optimizations/smoothness/whatever any day. Would never ever ever willingly go back to a phone with a screen smaller than 4.7" though, no matter what OS it's running.

I never realized how annoying the iPhone screen size was until I had a larger phone in my hand.

That is not the carrier, it is apple's decision to allow tethering or not. If the carriers like it is a different question.

Umm,my iPhone can tether no matter any data plan I have. My US friends do not. I would say that's the carriers fault.

The carriers tell apple to not allow tethering and they listen, they should not listen to the carriers.

Apple's wasted too much time profit taking and suing others. They've become so distracted, that while they were doing other things, I've become very happy and more than satisfied with my new Android phones. I'm having too much fun and enjoying all the advantages Google has built into Android version 4.2.2.

Lol Google play is a disadvantage.

On my iPhone I have a tethering toggle without any JBing on my part.

Its that simple.

This is in the US mate. In the UK and Europe, these archaic restrictions by carriers do not exist.
I always stick with O2 in the UK (provides best coverage in the midlands and east and no issue with tethering) and was using movistar in Spain. I never had any issues like here in the US. I have a 5GB plan and that allows for tethering. But no other plan does.
I would like to see one standard world wide, much like the EU is doing to clamp down on overage charges when traveling within the EU.

I understand, but it is annoying me when people say they don't have access to tethering on their iPhones because of Apple. No its not Apple it's your carriers that decide this stuff people!(not directed at you Assault)

Trying to fix that now.

Probably not, I've been on my S3 for a year now and Android is pretty darn good ever since I got the Jelly Bean update. I've played with family member's iPhone 5's and they are a little snappier than my S3 but the gap is pretty small (and that tiny screen just doesn't do it for me.) Having demoed an S4 the gap just continues to narrow. I have an iPad 3 and little things like the (lack of a) back button, double tapping the home button to multi-task and notifications really annoy me on iOS compared to Android. By the time a larger iPhone is announced the S5 will be out or around the corner and I just can't see myself going back to an iPhone at that point.

iOS is too locked down. I'm not buying a new phone with another locked down OS when the phones with the best specs are the ones that aren't locked down :p

Yeah surely, if they increase the ppi to match HTC One. Otherwise, im quite happy with my ipad.

Also, having an android phone + Apple tablet lets me enjoy the best of both worlds as opposed to being tied to one environment where you will feel bored sooner or later.

Google Play is a terrific open resource.

Conversely if you value a closed ecosystem that locks you in, then iTunes is for you.

Google Play isn't as open as it used to be, not for apps anyway. Google is policing it a lot more heavily these days.

Android still beats other platforms though because it's the only one that officially allows you to use other sources for apps without hacking anything.

I just bought s4 so probably not but I don't expect apple to increase iPhone's screen size this year anyway.
They will stick to 4 inches for 2 years min, 4 max.

Till then I'll enjoy my s4 ;)

Good point. It's the best combination!

No. Since I am able to download movies straight to my phone (even uTorrent got an Android app), in any format and able to play them straight streamed or via HDMI, without the need of additional hardware or converting, I am gone for good me thinks. Not to mention the ability to customize my phone like crazy (even without rooting), which won't happen any time soon either.

Again, that is 'me' - not saying other manufacturers are better, but they do more for me personally.

I said if now yes it would be a 1080P display.

But....it wouldn't be, that is what i was saying, Apple have kept around 326 ppi, and with a battery at ~ 1526mAh (that is the 5S battery), that would drain with about 2 hours screen on time. But if they improve the battery, to average/good life with 4.7" screen, 1080p, improve some other stuff, in iPh6, I would consider it, money isn't as important atm, so lock down doesn't matter.

So in reply, iPh6, possibly, depends on how bout iOS and android are going. Keep an open mind. :)
