It's not even about Harassment or the law part of it.
I was working at a fairly large company here in NYC years ago. This guy in another department was dating a girl who worked in my department. She ended up being one of those jekyl and hyde personalities who got mean when they broke up.
She ran around telling everyone that he was lacking in certain areas
to all the women in the company. After about a week, word spread, and everytime he would walk past security, down the hall, or in a meeting, he would get a laughing glance, pointed at, etc. All of it was BS, and she ended up being a pyscho, but it made his career there a living hell.
Twenty years later, I was talking with someone and that's all they could remember about the poor guy. Seriously, it followed him around forever...
I could give you another 20 stories, but you get the point... I hope...
