My last android was a Samsung Galaxy S4.
I liked the camera, which was great at the time. I liked being able to insert a micro sd card for additional storage. Other than that, I hated it - I hated the Samsung os design and I hated the glitchy behavior.
Once I bought my iPhone 7 I started looking into apple's security features, and started moving away from using google services.
While I admit a new flagship android phone might be nice, I would never go back to using google services or trusting a google OS device with cameras and a microphone. I very much prefer iOS to android for its smooth and fast operation and security. I like iMessage a lot, as text messaging is one of the main uses for my smartphone, and I want it to be encrypted. 95% of my friends and family use iPhones and messaging is so much better with it. Android users argue that they can use a 3rd party app for encrypted messaging - well then I would have to convince all of my iPhone using friends to download it, which would never happen, and I have to trust some app developer to be honest about their encryption and security, and I don't. I trust apple more with vetting app developers and app security.
