If T-Mobile has good coverage then I guess it would make sense for an AT&T to switch over to their unlimited data plan.

- T-Mobile has fast and truly unlimited data, they just have a limited LTE coverage footprint
- Sprint has truly unlimited data, their data is just slow as molasses in a lot of areas. Even as slow as AT&T/T-Mobile 2G data in many locations. It's pretty much a joke.
- Verizon has the gold standard of unlimited data. It's truly unlimited, allows tethering, and is high-speed LTE just about everywhere. I can't even remember the last time I saw the "3G" symbol on my iPhone. Only thing is that it is no longer offered.
- AT&T's "unlimited" is also a joke now since it's throttled at 5GB. You're better off getting a shared plan since those at least allow for tethering.

Basically you're stuck with T-Mobile or Sprint if you want unlimited data these days. Good luck finding a market where you can actually make good use of it.

I've gotten Tmobile LTE in every major city i've been in. The only places you'll find problems with Tmobile service is rural coverage. If you get good reception where you are and don't travel much, then the Tmobile option will be the cheapest/best option. Expect the coverage gap to narrow over the next few years. The more customers that sign up for tmobile, the more money. the more money means more network upgrades.

Would you give up AT&T's unlimited plan for T-mobile's?

details?

what's the best way to do this?

it sounds a bit complicated.:D

You can sell your plan on craigslist, all you would have to do is transfer of responsibility to the buyer. Then the buyer would take over your line, as long as they pass credit check and all.

when i do this, i will lose my number right?

No...tmobile dosnt have as great service, reception, or LTE like AT&T, however verizon has the best customer service, reception and has the most LTE coverage.
Go Verizon!

I'm thinking about it. sucks getting throttled down after 5 GB in AT&T's plan. ive been a AT&T/Cingular customer for more than 10 years now, i think it's time to move on. What would you do if you were in my situation?

im in los angeles so coverage is pretty much the same.

When I first saw the ads for T-Mobiles Jump program with unlimited LTE data for only $80 I thought it was too good to be true. At the time I was about to buy a new Note 3 for the (then) going price of $775.

Instead I went for the T-Mobile deal and the phone was only $705. Now three months later I'm really happy & completely satisfied. I've enjoyed using between 7 & 8 GB of fast LTE (clocked as fast as my AT&T LTE) and extremely happy with the stellar Galaxy Note 3. Not once have I been throttled just like they promised.

Customer service is fantastic, as is the coverage in the areas I live and travel within.

I totally agree about being throtted at 5gb sucking, usually by the 3rd week of the month in my cycle I'm constantly checking my usage and hoping I don't get the the magical 5gb threshold!

Coverage won't be the same... But you don't get throttled and you will get 2.5GB of personal hotspot that AT&T wouldn't give you....

And I guess wide band audio calls between iPhone 5/5C/5S on T-Mobiles network

No, I have unlimited international data (3G). T-Mobile would mean only 2GB access; no thanks.

Looking to purchase a grandfathered AT&T unlimited international data plan. Am based in China and travel all around asia so would be greatly helpful. Willing to pay well (~$1500) but willing to negotiate. Please msg me at kzheng21@gmail.com. Thanks

You'd seriously pay $1500 to take over someone's unlimited data plan? You do realize that:

a) AT&T unlimited throttles you horribly once you hit 5GB, and

b) $1500 can pay for a 10GB plan for a whole year? or 100GB of overages? Not even considering that even if you "buy" someone's unlimited plan, you still have to pay the $60-$70 a month for it.

This is a pretty lousy investment, and you can't even use that much data because of the throttling at 5GB each month.

EDIT: I just noticed you said "unlimited international data plan". This actually existed? Disregard my post in that case. Heh. *egg on face*

Yeah, he could blow $1500 in overseas data charges in about 5 minutes. :) I wish I would have snagged this plan when it was still around.
