Don"t see the problem with two models, no keyboard and keyboard. Why should Apple limit themselves to one market segment? Its not like Apple is unfamiliar with the keyboard. They already make a slick, thin keyboard for their computers. Based on what I have seen of their designs, if they did make it keyboard iPhone, it would be slicker and more innovative than any competitor.

Keyboard model may equal better acceptance buy corps, (would need a lot more however). If corps accept a keyboard model in the enterprise environment, it would translate to greater profit for Apple. Greater profits for Apple may translate to more money spent on R&D. More R&D may lead to even greater end user products.

I personally would not equate Apple and keyboard with WinMobile and keybaord. Apple cares more about form and function than WinMobile phone manufacturers.

I would stick with no keyboard however.

Plus having a keyboard model would create more threads:)

What I would love to be able to do is use Apple's existing Bluetooth keyboard with the iPhone. When I travel, I'd love to just take the keyboard with me and when in my hotel room be able to use it to compose longer emails and message board postings. I am hoping that if/when the Table comes out it will have this feature.

Yeah!! I'm hoping the Table will have only 3 legs!:D

I had an LG V and then the LG Voyager and always had an actual QWERTY keyboard and I thought I would miss that when I got the iPhone. After having the iPhone now I don't miss having an physical keyboard at all. One thing I hated about a physical keyboard is the paint started to show wearing on the keyboard and it looked really bad.

Button keyboard would be a step back. Wouldn't want that.

Now if the phone slid up right where the bezel is and there was another touchscreen keyboard under there that would be nice.

Obviously look better then my 1 min chop and no bezel on bottom piece but if keyboard was still a touchscreen that'd be nice

Now your thinking. From the preliminary design, I say for Apple to hire you. I pretty sure Apple can make the slide out thinner than the itouch.

I am not suggesting replacing the current no keyboard iphone, just in addition to.

And remember people, if they did make an additional keyboard model, and you don't like keyboards, you don't have to buy it, use it or look at it so as not to offend your virtual keyboard sensibilities.;)

for me it's vice-versa, the virtual keyboard, is slow, and has a weird feeling,

but on my blackberry, i type quick! without many spelling errors:D

its certainly not "slow" in the sense that its laggy, or takes a long time to press the keys. If your having that issue, somethings wrong.
yes, it is "slow" on the blackberry storm like you mentioned, because you have to press the screen all the way down and then let it come back up before you can type another letter.

now, if the issue you're having is that you can't type fast because of errors, I don't know what to tell you. I personally type faster on my iPhone than anyone I know can on a blackberry or other qwerty phone (even faster than some do on a computer). I've learned to trust the auto correct, and if you do this, it becomes very easy to type. If you have issues, well, it's not for everyone.

I can say this much. I'm fairly certain a physical keyboard would NEVER come to the iPhone unless its an accessory. Apple announced how bad these keyboards were when they unveiled the iPhone. They won't go back on that statement. It's just not them
