I’d like to see it, but with a major improvement over existing implementations - to have the scan area much larger than a fingerprint size & to be able to select where the scan area is.

It needs to be two-thirds of the screen imo, with the option to set either the bottom third, middle third or these combined areas of the screen as the scan area.

My reason for being able to choose which third of the screen to set as biometric authentication is so it makes it easier to avoid unlocking when you just want to tap to wake. So if you know the bottom third is for unlocking, you know to tap to wake on either the middle or upper third of the screen.

None of the ‘major’ (LG, Samsung, Google) competitors surrounding Apple have successfully released a fingerprint sensor under the Display, yet. I know everyone wants to rave on this technology and how it would be so beneficial and it would eliminate the notch, but I still think there might be problematic issues with the fingerprint reader under the display, like inconsistencies with in failing unlock rates due to screen protectors, excessive battery draw, etc. I definitely support this technology, but no one here really has experience with this to make a fair review of how ‘Good’ it really is.

Still, for at least four years I assume, Face ID is the primary for Apple, until they deem other options necessary in the future. I personally don’t have a desire for Touch ID under the display, but I would like to experience it at some point, rather it be from Apple or another smart phone manaufacter.
