1,500K i can get a good Trip to Miami with Mamacita ;)
Heh, I've got a retired boss who spends $20K (401k RMD) on European cruises yearly but doesn't have a cellphone at all (not even a flip phone). I spend on tech (albeit nowhere near as much since I still need to save for retirement). All a matter of priorities. :)

I'm looking for technology that makes these smartphones "smarter" than they already are. Yeah, this iPhone 8 is going to have a nice screen. But in terms of abilities, it's not going to be any different from the 7s, or the current 7.

I might pay $1500 for a smartphone that behaved like a real, "smart" personal assistant device. Not for a phone with a screen that kinda goes to the edge.

Apart from the bigger screen and lack of TouchID what will the 8 actually offer over my 7 for £1000? Will have to be something amazing.

Acroding to the rumours a revolutionary 3D facial recognition system, OLED screen, VR capable camera and wireless charging.

I really want to keep using iPhone, because it's the centre of my Apple ecosystem. It makes my interaction with technology so seamless, whether it be my Apple Watch, AirPods or MacBook etc, the iPhone is the gravity that keeps everything together.

$1500 US would equal around $1900 in Swedish currency which is the same as the base model 13" MacBook Pro over here. It's absolutely insanity for a phone. I'm using my 6S+ for another year and hoping that Apple values their customers more than their greed. It's definitely going to push the $1000 though.

There will be a 7s that launches alongside the 8 or whatever they decide to call it, you don't have to buy the 8. I think people are forgetting about this with the 7s and 7s Plus.

That is true, but 7S will still be among the most expensive phones on the market and probably recycle the ageing iPhone 6 design for another year... But we'll see.

Rumours have it at the same price as the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, yet it will keep the same design along with Touch ID but might appeal to some people who are not so happy about Touch ID's removal, I think it's a good thing on Apple's part to make a 7s and 7s Plus alongside the iPhone 8 simply because there are people who cannot afford or simply don't want to spend that much money on the 8. We will see but I think it's a smart move on Apple's part at least until next year.

Well, the higher price will keep people from buying 10 phones on opening day - for resale. Apple figures if the price is going to be marked up (and people will pay) THEY might as well get the $$.

When people are blatantly reselling your product - you didn't ask enough $$ for the original sale.

That's the problem, it will be a really pricey phone and be less cool than the new one, since it will have the same design for the fourth year in a row expect for the glass back.
It will be a more affordable alternative, but still a very expensive phone. Some people may stick with their current iPhone if they can't afford the new one instead of buying the 7s or 7s+
I'll buy the 7s+ only if Apple will start the upgrade program in my country, so I'll be able to switch hopefully to a bezel free phone in 2018. I won't buy the 7s+ or the 8 outright

Not sure of the point to this. The iPhone Pro won't start at $1,500. If someone needs 512GB for a phone, I am sure they will invest if they find it necessary.

Guys

Planning on getting Iphone X 256gb, but no addons.

Have few questions though:

1. Is there more chance of getting an Iphone X by pre-ordering it or is there a high chance that it will be in stores on 3rd of November if I got there for the store opening?

2. Is it really worth getting £200 Apple care kit? In the worst case scenario, how much would it cost to replace the front screen?

Thanks in advance!
