I seen where Apple had a problem adding Touch ID to the iPhone X because of the 3D Touch. Hoping they add both to the next iPhone X, but if you had to choose would you rather have on screen Touch ID or 3D Touch any why? I would pick on screen Touch ID. Since I hate Face ID with a passion.

The only company to have a working on-screen fingerprint scanner does so by taking an image of the fingerprint through the gaps in the pixels.
It also uses some algorithms to detect a pulse to ensure it’s a live finger, but in my opinion this method isn’t as secure as the current Touch ID method or the Face ID method.
If it’s less secure than the current methods, I don’t think Apple will be able to use it for Apple Pay.
That would be a huge step backwards.

I use 3D Touch all the time. I know many think it's useless technology or not productive. But I find it to be useful in a sense how I can shortcut applications versus navigating through entire app. It also allows me to peek/pop for e-Mails/messages. It's convenient and provides quicker access. The only downside is not all third-party applications support 3D Touch.

For sure 3D Touch. Even though Touch ID may be faster to unlock the Face ID by like tenths of a second, if we did not have 3D Touch we would loose a lot of short cuts, which is not going to compensate for the couple tenth of seconds faster Touch ID is.

3D Touch. I’ve come to appreciate it. Touch ID under the display sounds cool but we have Face ID and I wouldn’t want to give up 3D Touch.

3D Touch all day. I even like how in Tapatalk looking these very posts I can 3D Touch and it gives me a larger view of the post I’ve done it on!

Hate is of not FaceID is here to stay. I think the iPads will also convert to FaceID soon.

FaceID work great!
Well an iPad is different. Since that would be at my house usally anyway I wouldn’t even put a passcode on it period. Just sucks to have no security on my phone. I hate having to enter the damn pin almost everytime I use my phone.

I turned 3D Touch off. Shortcut menus rarely have useful options and the messy, inconsistency of 3D Touch annoyed me.

If Apple has Face ID and the next Galaxy was good in screen Touch ID, that will be one reason to switch. I'm not sure if it's enough, but it might be if a few things like price and battery life are better.

Once the Vivo came out with onscreen Touch ID, to me, the X with its notch is looking pretty crappy.

haven't even noticed 3D Touch much other than a novelty. Love my Touch ID. Until Face ID can be better, I'm sticking with Touch ID devices for as long as I can.

I love both 3D Touch and TouchID and will not be switching to a new iPhone without either feature present. They’ll have to pry my oldschool iPhone from my cold, dead hands.

This is totally false. Apple bought the company that ultimately produced the Face ID tech several years ago. There was never any intent to do Touch ID under a screen, nor would there be any point to doing so. Face ID is the future and Touch ID is the past, I would bet money on it.
