I'm in the U.S. My bank supported Apple pay about a month or so after release, but even if they didn't, no way would I switch. I still can't really use it most places I buy stuff.

My Discover card is my main credit card and I still use it despite lack of Apple Pay support. It would be nice if I could use it but it's not that serious.

I refuse to use Apple pay as it requires me to use either a code or my finger print on my phone all the time. Not going through the hassle.

Yes because using your fingerprint is so much more difficult than swiping a card, going through the prompts, and entering your pin or signature.

NO, because the finger print reader has worked so poorly for me. I would be glad to put up with the hassle for a transaction but not for everything I use my phone for. I have been through the conversations before many times. When Apple makes the reader work for me, I will use it.

Real story. I left my wallet in my car. 1st time in my life day before yesterday. Bought a fruit tart at Wholefoods with ApplePay. The cake was really old. :)

I don't think ApplePay be usefull till I can have my digital copy of my DL available on iphone. I have to carry it with me. Never switch a bank just for ApplePay now. I can use it only in 10 percent locations now.

I'm with Barclays as well, but I use my credit card and cash most of the time, so i'm sorted there. Don't have a debit card as there are cashpoints all over the place. My cc are on the list and when AP comes to the UK I might give it a go, but typing 4 numbers is probably as quick for me.

I love my bank, so I wouldn't switch explicitly for ApplePay. They've gone out of their way for me many times, the staff knows me by name when I go in, very pleasant.

I would however get a credit card with a company that supports it, and when my bank adds support, use my own bank. I currently have a card with Capital One as well as my bank, so I'm pretty sure Capital One will have support whenever ApplePay finally decides to launch in Canada.

I have a US card that I used for ApplePay a few times before the Canadian dollar dropped. Just use it for ordering stuff in the US to a border package service nowadays.

I'm almost 100% sure though my bank won't be a launch bank, since they are not one of the big "5" in Canada.

My bank is going with Apple Pay and I will sign up to use it but I wouldn't have bothered going through the hassle of changing banks if mine hadn't been a launch partner.

There is no hassle with switching banks in the UK. The UK government has a 7 day switch policy in place. Your new bank deal with everything. Your direct debits, your salary, balance and the rest. Plus on top of this if anyone tries to charge your existing bank account within 12 months, it redirects to your new account. If anything goes wrong, your new bank fixes and compensates you.

On top of this, there are alot of banks offering 100quid for switching :)

I still wouldn't bother switching just to use Apple Pay, it's not that big a deal for me.

You either have really dirty fingers or you're a 3rd degree burn victim

Been through this before and have even exchanged phones and even with the Geek watching me at the Apple store my finger prints only work maybe 3 out of 5 times. Hands are clean and no burns.

So you are either really smart or . . . . . . .:p

Just a question, why would you need to change banks anyway? Can't you just get a credit card from a company which supports Apple Pay rather than just move everything?

Or are people talking about using Apple Pay to just charge things to their debit cards?

Hard for me to get warm and fuzzy about my Bank, Wells Fargo. Due to my company we have 5 different account opened at my local branch. Used to walk in and they knew you and would say high but all of those are gone and they all have such "heavy accents" that I no longer can understand what they say most the time. Drive in window for me unless I have to go in!
I stopped using them ages ago. They are pure evil ... especially their overdraft fee policies.

Nearly the opposite for me. Although in no way related to ApplePay I closed my Bank of America account after having fraudulent activity 2 times on a card I NEVER used. The card was expired and a new card wasn't activated (aka internal fraud). And 1 fraudulent check on an account I didnt use, that bounced.

I got my the money back or more accurately I was never charged. Meanwhile I never had a hiccup with my credit union accounts and cards I use daily over the last 20 years.

Point is I wouldn't switch to or from a bank based on ApplePay. While I consider ApplePay a benefit feature of a bank in the grand scheme of things it pretty low on my priority list.

I refuse to go cashless. Apple Pay is another step towards a cash-free society and I don't agree with it.

No Apple Pay in NZ yet, but I'm unlikely to use it anyway. Holding my wallet up to the reader is about as easy as it gets, and there's no harm if I drop it.

Agree 100 percent. Thanks God there are some people here, who have ability to think.

Quite a bizarre post.

Cash may be your preference, but I can assure you that people who prefer other methods do actually put some thought into it.

It's a shame that Barclays has declined to support Apple Pay, it would've been nice and would add more convenience to paying for stuff. However, I'm not bothered by it and won't change banks just because they don't support it.

If I don't get 2 percent cashback on my CC I never use them. I see no reason to "feed" banks, Apple when I buy something from store. My opinion Apple Pay is a useless toy.

I'm not commenting on your decision, which is your business.

It's the assertion that anyone who agrees with you is correct, and anyone else "doesn't have the ability to think", which I was questioning. This isn't something that there is a right or wrong to. It's personal preference and there are many very good reasons not to use cash.
