Why would apple go to the extent of putting 3rd gen parts in the 3g when all they would have to do is cover it with a case. Remember what your dad told you "swallow before you spit"
I would laugh my arse off. The suicide hotlines around the world would be ringing off the hook. Bottom line is to each their own.
I love my 16GB 3G and am looking forward to OS 3.0 This upgrade should suffice me until my contract is up and then I will get the latest and greatest iPhone in 2010.
I just want Apple to continue building the best piece out there.

Even though I really believe that there will be a 3rd gen released this summer (I still have the original from the 2nd day of launch), it would be extremely funny.

I remember what my father always told me. " I'll believe it when I see it.". Sorry to say this to all the die hard iPhone guys out there but seeing it on websites and hearing this or that from my brothers, friends, sisters, moms, daughter just doesn't cut it with me. I need to see this in person for myself and actually be ably to touch and play with it. Until then there is no new iPhone to me until it's in my hands or they make the announcement that there will be one not just rumors.

I have been reading rumor after rumor after "I know exactly what it will look like" and "I know the exact specs" posts. I'm thinking, wouldn't it be funny if there was no new iPhone this year? Maybe they discontinue the 8GB and make 16/32GB models only. I think there will be a new one, but I would love for there to also not be one so I can see the look on everyone's face here. The sheer feeling of disappointment in the intertubes-air would be epic.
