... and it appears they sell everything. I recently purchased a 6" rubber Fernco pipe cap that I could not find locally. Right now I'm considering purchasing a 10' aluminum straight edge from them.

Absolutely. A family member is a dancer and needed a pair of pointe shoes. Not only did Amazon have the shoe in her size, but they were $30 cheaper than the dance supply company she normally uses. Plus free two-day shipping thanks to my prime membership.

From ballet shoes to pipe caps. Amazingly wonderful.

Companies like Amazon will always have the price edge, anytime you have a regional distributing center and no local brick and mortar stores. This is changing the face of retail as more and more stores stop stocking what no longer sells well. They may keep it in their inventory, but it will be relegated to online sales. I wonder how some of the local stores will stay in business as I look at Blockbuster...

I've had times where I would ask for a price adjustment on items that cannot be adjusted and they just gave me the difference via gift credit.

I ordered a 3rd gen iPod touch once and had it for a while. Tried to update it to iOS 5 and it wouldn't. When I put the serial number in it showed as a 2nd gen iPod touch. I contacted amazon and they gave me a full refund about 18 months on from purchase!

Absolutely. I didn't really say they were wrong or I was right, so much as price matching within days of buying (they had not even shipped yet) is not uncommon for most B&M stores. Regardless, I wasn't a dick about it, I never am, but they do stand their ground typically.

Just curious was this an item being sold directly by Amazon or one of the many third party independent stores selling through Amazon? If the latter I'd assume they couldn't be flexible since it is not up to Amazon.

However...

Thread Revival.

I ordered an item this morning from Amazon and used the Amazon Prime Store Card. The order goes through and then 45 min later I get a text message that the payment did not go through.

To make a long story short, nothing at Amazon.com advised me that my card had been deactivated for inactivity. Logging into Synchrony Bank, nothing there told me I was dealing with a dead card. So I called them Synchrony Bank, and I ended up talking to Indians from India, who when I advised them that I wanted to reactivate my card, they... the bank itself... or at least their contacts in India had no ability to do this. They sent me back to the Amazon web site to a link which could not be found. After several calls and about 45 min on the phone with a representative with a US based Amazon Customer Service agent, we finally figured out that I must log out to get the reapply button to appear.

The icing on the cake, I discovered the interest rate which was neatly hidden away on their main page is FRICK'N 26% LOL... LOL. Yeah right I'll cherish my 5% back on purchases. So I did not reapply. :p

FWIW, you only pay interest if you don't pay off the balance within the billing cycle. I've hard the AMZN Store Card for a few years now, have never paid any interest as I always pay it off.

Actually in most cases I do too, but it's a principle thing first and secondly sometime I make big purchases that I take up to 6 months to pay off. For that, when you can find 7% cards, 26% is highway robbery.

Have you noticed how some products have large numbers of "received free product for my honest review"? I sent a suggestion today to Amazon to allow customers to seperate these reviews out from the others because I can't remember seeing a critical review where the reviewer got it for free or at a reduced price in exchange for their honest review.

Today I was looking for an RFID wallet, one that is supposed to protect your credit cards from unauthorized scanning. Anyone know how prevalent these types of cards are- is it basically all cards or just chip cards?

I'll point out that this is another case where running all over town, for hit and miss based on a retailers inventory, is where online shines, and local retail will suffer.
