Yeah, eBay for the most part is pretty safe when paying through PayPal. The only part that sounds a little off is the $900 offer being accepted. I mean, for all we know, you're the seller of the item getting some free advertising.

na if it was i would have used real pics and not sold pros for 1500 shiped

my id is knicks64 over 300fb

You might not need to worry. Just last week I bought an iPod touch 32gb 2g for $270 brand new. Got it in 3 days from UPS. I thought it was too good to be true but in fact it was brand new. You can find some amazing deals from eBay.

or $1350 or so with no tax and free shipping at amazon.com.

it seems like usps.com tracking system is down. have you seen any updates to your tracking number?

perhaps call usps. I've asked for a tracking number for my macbook pro that i won, and I haven't gotten one yet.

i will definitely let you know if the tracking number i get is the same one you get. that would be a tell-tale sign

did you purchase yours from the same auction as the original poster?

did you get it for $900 too?

You're going to get an updated P-p-p-powerbook.

I hope you get the Alum Macbook...

I have read all the replies posted by people on this thread. I checked the link you provided us and found several things that were bugging me.

"akin to FireWire and USB 2.0. The 2 GB of PC3-8500 DDR2 RAM"

I thought New Alum Macbook was too ordinary for Firewire? and DDR2 Ram...hmmm
I know someone mentioned it might be the old macbook(possibly white book?)

I am also very curious about this situation you are in and do hope you get the Alum 2.0 GHz macbook:D

Keep us updated and only the boxed Macbook will tell...

i'm shocked that you even bought it, without the auction even having real photos. i would never, unless they gave me photos via email when asked; so i could look at the data on the photos [info].

don't get me wrong i hope you get your item, i know i've fell for stupid things like this in the past. it just made me more cautious.

I'm going to lol when you get a box full of rocks. Or you get a old White Macbook.

Good luck, and when you get this "macbook" put up pictures of it.

I really do hope you get the ALU macbook, but I doubt it. Unless you work with this scammer, and are going to say you got it for the low price. Then other people will buy, and will get scammed.

Oh my!

Simply put --- WALK AWAY!!!
He actually can't walk away now. He's won, and he's won by eBay standards.
Suspicious.

Until now, only sold items under $200.

Somehow the person has dozens of computers that cost $1000 which calculates into something like $10,000 investment?

He IS selling knockoffs of other products...

However perhaps the people on ebay are using live discount to buy from each other, reducing the cost of product every time?
Actually, Live CashBack died before Christmas.
Let us know what transpires. There was someone in Montreal on ebay that was selling new Macbooks a few hundred less than the going price. In their ad they mentioned that many ebay sales are refurbs and they claim they're new, etc. They claimed they didn't do this, but then they must be getting them stolen because the margin on these machines is like $100 for the retailer. They make their money on all of the after sale items, such as Apple Care and cases, etc. So, it's either a scam, or a stolen machine. Notice that buying a stolen machine makes you in possession of, you guessed it, stolen property. So, I conclude that you either got scammed, or you bought a stolen machine, which is also being scammed. So, in short, you got scammed, or you got scammed.
Well, if he bought it and didn't know it was stolen, there's no way he could get in trouble. However, if he knew he was buying stolen property, then he could get arrested.

Sorry if I sounded like an ******* in any of those posts.
To ItzChase: It's possible, put not probable.

well i paid for it so we will see what happens

why in the hell would you do that?? he's been selling chinese knock off phones. i bought an "iphone" on ebay for $300, received a fake chinese knock off, and it took about 3 months to get my money back while paypal was researching my claim. ultimately the seller was banned from ebay. bad move...

Which turnip truck did you fall off of?

i love that line, can i use it?

i know what happens. 3 days from now you see a post "It Came!!!!".

then half the readers of this thread log in and buy one also. 3 more days later
the original poster who turns out to be the seller is gone and 25 people get ripped off at once.

Well played... haha. Excellent point. No one should be trying to buy from that seller, no matter what the outcome of this thread is...

Get Apple refurb people-- I have a 2007 Blackbook refurb still running strong from Apple Refurb (well, I sold it to a friend to get the alu 2.4 MB). The new MB and MBP are on there now.
