idk how you can get a ups tracking # from china?can that even happen

i know you cant track with ups out of the country anyway

the shipping service for mainland china is called EMS. They actually deliver pretty quickly. I think you can put their tracking number in USPS website, but ONLY when it reaches the USA since USPS will end up delivering packages sent by EMS

this is from personal experience with purchases made from China

either of you, travis or andrew have an eta for you macbooks? just curious when we might know how all of this is going to play out.

Just a quick update for my status. The seller has assured me the package has been shipped, and that is indeed coming from China. Do either of the others have an idea of when to expect delivery? I hope it works out for all of us. I am really looking forward to having a Macbook pro.

How come his listing says Phoenix, AZ? It should stat the item's actual location, China. That right there sounds real fishy. I don't think any of you will get your Macbooks (Pros). I sure do hope the best for everyone that purchased one though.

If a listing says it's from China or Hong Kong, I just refuse it even if the item is cheaper. 99% chance it's a cheap counterfeit or knockoff. Why support communism anyways?

If the seller is based in the United States, the products can easily be based in China. It is exactly like Apple. You order from them, but the products are shipped from overseas. The contact person is still in the USA. When you say the item is based in the USA, one would have the impression that it will arrive faster, and you won't get blocked by search filters that allow you to search USA auctions.

The macbook and macbook pros are manufactured in China. If you ever ordered a custom Macbook/Macbook Pro from Apple, you'll know that they are shipped DIRECTLY from China.

Why support communism? because it is the american thing to do. (i'm NOT kidding) The rise of the middle class comes from the increased purchasing power that has risen from Wal-mart and other low cost merchants. Where are most of the clothes, inexpensive furniture made? China.

If people are so righteous and against communism, then they should boycott Folgers and get "Fair trade coffee" and pay more. Or buy Amish furniture that costs 2-3x more but directly supports "Americans/Amish." Or grow your own cotton and make your own clothes because it is tough not to buy clothes made in China.

How many people would accept a lifetime ban on Chinese-made products knowing the alternatives would mean decreased buying power. I certainly would not. I love my iMac, iPhone, and my $30 tv stand.

uicandrew thanks for the pm

and everytimee i buy from china ship faster then usa and its a lot cheaper so i rather buy from them

Thanks for editing your post ;)

The Item location and seller locations are completely different. I'm sorry but I prefer not to buy the "Knock offs" or "counterfeit" items that come from China. Buying legit stuff(if there is such a thing) since pretty much everything comes from China anyways. Our economy is based of China's cheap labor. It's the crap that comes out that I don't like and want to purchase. Did you buy one of those knockoff iPhones the guy is selling? I hope you really like it. :)

It's strange how he goes from selling $150 "iphones" to selling 100s of laptops that miraculously fell off a truck or something. I just don't want to see anyone get scammed.

I waited outside of an AT&T store at 3am on opening day for my iphone. (i was 3rd in line) i ordered a macbook pro from this guy. We'll see what happens.

I did have a fake rolex that had the "kinetic" technology for $15 when I visited China.

I'm aware of prevalence of scams. Luckily (for buyers) ebay has now made it a requirement that all auctions have the option to pay via credit card. My credit card has always been on my side.

I have good reason to believe my Macbook will not ever arrive. For myself, I think its time to begin drawing some conclusions and begin the process of cancellation.
