If they have to spend an hour explaining it, then it probably isn't something that most people are going to want to use.

It streams music in one form or another and likely is a new app. Not sure what else they could say outside of a short demo. This is all stuff people use and understand today.

I agree with you, but I've seen Apple go off before on stuff that isn't that interesting. iRadio is fine, but talk about it for 10 minutes and move on.

ok, I'm going to guess it involves streaming songs to my own "personal" station, which is based on my music library and there will be direct iTunes Store linking to songs I might like, which I can purchase permanently.

Oh, and it'll have annoying commercials and limited "skipping" options, unless I pay a fee of some sort.

amirite?

How should I know? It hasn't been announced yet!

I'm not sure I completely buy this. THere can't be that many folks that know what's going on so that means it wouldn't be that hard to find a leak. Especially if this iRadio thing is legit.

Why would anyone risk being fired for a major contract breech to leak this out.

And why would Apple do it as a publicity stunt when the real announcement is less than 18 hours away.

Apple does this literally before every keynote. They feed WSJ with just enough info to get people interested without blowing it all. This was expected.

Tomorrow you will see more controlled leaks leading up to the event. Keep an eye on Gruber, Dalrymple, and The Verge.

Maybe they link it to iTunes Match so that you pay for the service and get iRadio without ads.

I'd be okay with that. Just so long as it ain't a Hulu Plus where I pay AND have to deal with Ads.

Then again I'm not so sure that this streaming thing and the Ad thing are connected. We'll possibly know tomorrow

The thin "7" and "X" resemble "vector paths". I'm telling you... it's gonna be all about vectors...

Photo and video and sharing would be great so I don't have to email/text photos and videos to my girls. So this is a nice feature. Still hoping they give us the option to remove the search window and replace with a widget screen instead. that would be tits!

I find the search function quite useful. Especially when you have a lot of apps and contacts. I use it mainly for that.

BTW - doesn't the iTunes PC/Mac Client itself already have a Internet Radio in it?

[Music -> Radio tab]

They'll probably just port that over to the iOS app and let you spam your currently playing songs to your friends on Facebook, ala Pandora/Spotify.

The so-called 'iRadio' will simply be a revamped Genius but instead of local it will be throughout the whole iTunes store. They already have the algorithm. Think about it.

You heard it here first guys :)

Exactly, so presumably it will do a much better job of playing music you actually like versus the competitors like spotify and pandora, which do not have access to your library to come up with better predictions. They reply on you occasionally up-voting a track or artist, where as Apple has the advantage of actually analyzing your songs. In other words, Apple's service should, in theory, provide better results than the competitors.

I sure hope there's more to iOS 7 than just some cosmetic changes--needs some significant improvements in functionality badly, IMO. Changing the font/icons/graphics is the least of iOS's problems.

I'll listen to what is offered with iRadio but doesn't sound like it's offering anything different than what I can get any number of other places, and it'll likely only work through the Apple ecosystem (vs. Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, even Google Music working across multiple platforms).

As an Apple fan I'm hoping for big things tomorrow, just realistically expecting to be dissappointed. :(

That's what I said over on the AppleInsider forums, but was shot down by an over-zealous moderator (you know, just someone on the internet with no more insight into Apple than me) who thinks my guess is invalid.

I think they're opening the Apple TV up for development. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

You mean Tallest Skil. He killed an already lousy Apple site.

1st to post on every article & then every other post telling people that give their site hits to leave if they don't agree with his irrational egotistical behavior.

I seriously think he's a power trip pre-teen that will eventually harm someone someday.

That's why they have about 8 readers that bother to post and the articles by DED are all fictional dreams that are 4 pages long.

What we need is a quick way to toggle features -- maybe we don't even HAVE to, like:

• automatic personal hotspot shut off when you have wifi on your iPhone and on your mac (it detects that both devices are on the same network so the iPhone doesn't bother sharing via wifi with the mac when the mac already has it!)

• automatic 4G when driving (iPhone detects accelerated movement and will not try to connect to wifi hotspots along the way).

And there are plenty other power-saving features ... like, how about your iPhone learns your work schedule so it knows when you make calls and when you don't? Or knows when you use wifi most?

List goes on...
