Just because no-one else is posting, doesn't mean you have to. Chat elsewhere.

On-topic: Can't wait, fingers crossed for a Tuesday in-store release as my contract is up soon. Though I could handle a late June release so long as it's announced today. Aside from 3G connectivity, I'm hoping for proper bluetooth, GPS and improved main cam. Front-facing camera isn't a huge issue for me, never really used it on any phone I have had, I think twice maybe?:cool:

Wishful thinking, but I'll do back flips if Apple were to release an un-subsidized, unlocked iPhone for use on other GSM networks (ie: T-Mobile) today. I know, I've read all the posts about how T-Mobile's 3G network isn't extensive enough, but a guy can dream, right?

I think AT&T would have a SH*T fit if Apple did that.. I see Apple and AT&T as a married couple, AT&T being the wife that has to have it her way O_O.

Well, I think as of now since it hasn't be released its called iPhone 3G.. but once it gets announced it will just be called the iPhone, just like the upgrades to the iPod.

If you want to get technical, you can call it iPhone 2G (Second Generation)

How about.... iPhone? Comparing the current EDGE only iPhone (v1iPhone) to v2 iPhones (aka 3G iPhone) i'd imagine there will be hardware differences, software capability differences and physical dimension/case differences.
You can tell the different generations of iPod, right? If there is a nano version, i'd imagine it'd have a name akin to that, iPhone nano. etc.

Australia might have a wait, but it's certainly getting some sweet Apple stores from what I hear.

So it will be simply called iPhone, and any references to it here on these or other forums will be 3g iphone, much like you do with imacs etc:
imac g3, imac g4, imac g5 etc?
Just curious because people are going to ask questions about their iPhones, and we all know they don't always state what model, so then we ask 'if you tell us what version then we can answer...'

Hi everyone, I'm new here :) I've been anxiously awaiting this 2nd gen iPhone since the first came out and I decided to wait. I'll be watching the live updates of the WWDC with the rest of ya :)

While I dont believe it will be available today, I'm secretly hoping! I have an AT&T store only about 1,000 feet away from my own retail store so I could very quickly run over there should there be an "available now" announcement :) I meant to drive by this morning to see if there were any die-hards camped out hoping as well, but I forgot.

T minus 35 minutes until my 1st gen. iPhone becomes obsolete :(

I'm just hoping they release the 2.0 firmware for the original iPhones and the app store gets launched today. I'm not really in a hurry to buy a new phone as I've only had this one since September. 3G isn't a big deal to me but GPS may be.
 
Based on the photos I've seen from inside the venue it really looks like they're focusing heavily on the SDK and App Store.
 
10.6 will be free and 2nd gen iphone available tomorrow at 6pm!!!!!!!!! :D

I have 5 live blogs up in my browser and an "Audio Stream" which is currently just playing music (not the music in the hall). I am nuts.
