I think that something big is going to happen. It must be earlier for a reason.
I think it's going to be a G5 Powerbook and a G5 Powermac update and the new XServe.
Tiger looks like it will be out by April.

Like the Powerbook G5. I'm buying it the day it comes out.

He'll announce that Tiger is behind schedule and is targeting a late August introduction ("we want to get it right.") There will be a big count-down clock on the Apple home page that will read "Whenever".
Steve will ask everyone to reach under their seat where they will find an Apple 3-button mouse that's also an iPod.
He will then will demo a black turtle-neck sweater with built-in iPod controls. Everyone will be shocked that he will have been wearing one of these at the past three keynotes and now Apple is offering them to the public at only $499 available next month only from the Apple Store.
Then Michael Dell will join STeve on stage and they will announce that Dell is licensing OS X for Dell hand-helds and will be rolling out the new products for Christmas 2006. Steve Balmer will then join them and tell everybody how much he loves OS X.
Finally, Steve will announce an iPod version of GarageBand where that little triangle stays red all the time, even when it's just the grand piano running.
Oh and one more thing- the eMac will get speed-bumped and a new color- "yellow snow".

Maybe I'm just bitter about receiving my Dual 2.5 G5 four months after I ordered it...
Not surprising, as major OS releases are going to be 18 months to 2 years apart now. So we'll get a new OS DEMO next year with maybe 6 months to year before that is released.JediL1 said:BLAH, that means Tiger (10.4) will be out only for a short while. iTunes 5.0 may just be a random announcement (with press show possibly)or it will happen at a consumer show.silvergunuk said:...
Software well get a Quick Tiger demo with release date, maybe Motion 2.0, Pro Band and iTunes 5.0.

Whether or not they manufacture the processors, they are responsible for shipping what they announce. While they probably had a certain level of assurance from IBM that the processors would be ready, I'd guess it had more to do with the need to announce SOMETHING worth a darn after making the 3Ghz promise at WWDC 03.mklos said:Like that was Apple's fault! Apple doesn't make the damn processors!
