i have no idea if this has been brought up (and I'm not going to read 1000 posts), but with the entry Mac Pro priced at $2500 dollars, I think the long-rumored, long-awaited mid-tower (somewhat upgradeable headless iMac ~$1500) will be "one more thing."

just wanted to go on the record with that.

That was my immediate reaction about 20 pages ago, hehe!

I hope the crowd chants one more thing, one more thing, soon...because I want to read about new hardware...the software I'd rather be able to see in person...

At the risk of being flamed...

...the whole "Microsoft are copying us" BS wouldn't bother me so much if Apple wasn't announcing a significant number of features "borrowed" from MS.

Mail is essentially catching up with Exchange/Outlook, the HTML templates thing I think is new, but the whole "writing notes to yourself" stuff, integrated calender, etc, is all classic Exchange/Outlook.

Virtual Desktops were present in the bonus pack that came with NT4, though one could probably argue that Microsoft copied that from the Unix world, and the Unix world from the Amiga.

Time Machine sounds like the already announced automatic backup system in Vista, itself an evolution of technologies present in Windows for the last six or seven years.

By comparison, the "Vista is a clone of Mac OS X" stuff looks to me tortured. It takes more than repositioning the odd button to make a clone of Mac OS X, and to be honest, if Vista was a clone of Mac OS X, it wouldn't suck.

Just an observation.

There should be a feature in iChat so that you can set your video to use one of the photobooth effects. That would be awesome.
