Nope... a little over 1000 on now, record is 5,000 something.

Most users don't jump on the forums until the keynote is finished. Probably because there's no link to forums.macrumors.com from the MacRumorsLive page. So the number of users online is sure to rise later.

Backdrops - wouldn't it be great if you could be somewhere other than where you are?

Schiller changes his background - no green screen - steps out of frame, set the background, automatically masks out background

That's so cool!!!!

That's it?

Maybe because it's not counting all the users on macrumorslive.com just the people in the actual forums.

The stuff not already done by Microsoft is the stuff they're deliberately not showing. If M$ already have their own version of something, they have no need to copy it from OSX.

that is awesome!

...the whole "Microsoft are copying us" BS wouldn't bother me so much if Apple wasn't announcing a significant number of features "borrowed" from MS.

...

By comparison, the "Vista is a clone of Mac OS X" stuff looks to me tortured. It takes more than repositioning the odd button to make a clone of Mac OS X, and to be honest, if Vista was a clone of Mac OS X, it wouldn't suck.

Just an observation.

I think you're spot on, Peharri. What makes Apple different, though, and new to an extent is that the tech is now user-friendly. I remember having to do snapshots with 2000 and it was a pain. Mail will also be better than Outlook within a couple of months because it (hopefully) won't take the whole system down when you leave it open.

I think you're right, but what makes Apple special is that they make the stuff work. That has to be worth something, wouldn't you think?
