It's been needed for a while. And with FasterFox and Adblock, I still love FireFox and believe it's more useful than Safari. Perhaps if Safari had extensions, with tons of user-created add-ons (like FireFox) to make it your own customized browser, I'll start using it more. Until then, I still love Firefox :)

I was just going to write this myself - I cannot imagine using any browser that doesn't have as many extensions as Firefox does. Extensions are what make Firefox uber cool!!! I don't mind an extra second of rendering or Javascript processing if the extensions make my life livable. I can't live without Firefox extensions - the only thing close to it could be Dashboard widgets for the same purposes, but then, Dashboard performance is not that great.

P.S.: Safari has some plugins, but they still don't match the breadth of Firefox extensions.

I DO think the 10 features are really cool, they just aren't ones that we didn't already know about (with a couple exceptions). So I can't be too disappointed. It's still a great OS, probably way better than Vista.

Windows > Mac OS?

So, Windows users get Safari 3 today for free (public beta), but Mac OS X users have
to wait till October and buy it together with Leopard for $129?

Please someone tell me I am wrong.

i don't think they'll do a major macpro update soon. maybe just bring the lower end of the line up to speed.

Steve needs to get a grip on reality, Safari isn't a "One more Thing..." kind of announcement....

You have a point there, I guess, and in that context, the 64bit 'top to bottom' thing is important. Mind you, it's under the hood -- so most won't see / care about it.

While we're at it, what about the ZFS thing?
