Match is interesting. It effectively lets you wash the sins of your illegal P2P past away for a small fee.

I am wondering if Apple got the music industry ok with this with the, "Well here's a way to actually get some money from the many people who did illegally download music that you'd never get trying to find and prosecute them all (plus less legal fees too)".

Who says Apple infringed on anyone's IP??

The people with eyes who can tell that the iOS 5 notification system is a blatant rip from Android.

So can we access iCloud right away, or only with iOS 5?

well i'll say it, the biggest disappointment is they aren't going to have a separate interface for the iPad and use the real estate better.

LOL

Anyway, a landmark WWDC. Good show.

You don't think that Lord Jobs' notification system doesn't MIRROR the look and feel of the earlier Android notification system? Blind.

sometime in the next 3-5 months ;)

man apple is weak.

LOL @ Steve saying "deal with it." to ripped music. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and furthermore suggesting we fork out more money for the same songs we already purchased and even more @ an inferior encoding vs CD quality.

The whole sync concept with the iCloud sounds pretty neat but honestly are people really that lazy they can't sync their devices? Steve acted like it was brain surgery.

How does this iCloud work for those of us who share an AppleID within a family? For example, my wife and I share our iTunes app purchases, but don't want to sync our calendars and mail. Is it possible to divorce the two?

I disagree. We're officially in the Post PC era now that the tether has been cut. This is a huge deal. So is the iCloud API. This is the most exciting WWDC I can remember in years.

Yup. People are wowed by flashy.
Back end stuff is rarely flashy yet is what brings the flash later on.

You're either going to be user-centric or you're not. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

Does it? If so then hmmm....I may be interested. So would this be like a digital content confession and thusly we are admonished and forgiven of all sins?

I highly doubt that, and would read the fine print for the service a couple of times.

Why would Apple condone piracy? Why would the record companies allow Apple to absolve piracy?

You let Apple scan your music files, the scan recognizes a number of illegal files, and those are then reported.

You mean that exact process that my nintendo DS has been doing for over a year!?!
