What Apple should do for all us current MobileMe subscribers, is give us Apple credits to use on iTunes or whatever.

I haven't poked through all 25 pages of this thread yet. Was that addressed at all? I *just* renewed a month ago. An iTunes credit or something would certainly be nice....

So does this mean...

That the restriction of 5 computers authorisation goes away? Please please someone say YES!!!!

2:45PM "It's the same old story. I buy something on my iPhone and it's not on my other devices. I grab my iPod and I go to listen to that song and it ain't there!"

Come on, seriously? Doesn't the iPhone already have an iPod? Why do you gotta use another iPod?

Storage

Wow...you are on Apple's case today.

He'd be happier if useful features were never copied. It's better to go without and be able to achieve some sort of existential bliss that way, knowing the world you live in is free of evil copying.

The message I am getting of this presentation is that I should buy a bunch of Apple devices so that I have these problems of syncronizing my photos/music/data to all of them, and then get a free iCloud account to solve these problems.

Beat me to it. Was there not a sync only version before they added storage online? I recall installing that version and syncing files across my iMac and Windows tower. It would pick the fastest method of transfer as well if you were all on Wi-Fi.
Yeah there was in the begining.
You can currently set it to automatically upload/sync or ask each time.
I had mine hold transfers until I was on a WiFi connection.

Miss the phone, well the OS, not the hardware. ;)

forget that part of the logic, what i want to know is, was it really that hard to plug in to your computer and sync? its a nice feature and all, but listening to Jobs try to make some of these things sound like productivity albatrosses is hilarious

That's fine. Does the wheel need to be reinvented every time? I don't care if something is copied or not, as long as it works well on the device that I'm using.

I think most everybody would agree with you... if Apple did not sue just about everybody for "copying" their GUI and features. There is a thing called hypocrisy.

Hey developers...Anyone on here mind adding my IMEI to your list so I can test out ios 5 today? I would be super thrilled..:D If so, PM me! Thanks

So no streaming. Amazon (and to a lesser extent Google) must be loving themselves now.

iCloud is indeed just a big hard drive with invisible connections to all Apple devices. But at least it's free.

Edit: Spoke to soon. iTunes Match. $25

I suspect this well have plenty of propaganda attached to it. I stumbled upon the original Windows Live folders on a suggest from a podcast and the fact it was supported under OS X or Silverlight capable browsers. You might be able to pass that off using Moonlight on Linux as well if they manage to get it updated to a newer version.

iCloud appears to be cross-platform as well and just as easy to abuse as the SkyDrive. Oh wait it is SkyDrive! More or less. I only used it for a few months.

i'm sure it has to be associated wit ha device s/n as well or something like that for security purposes otherwise it is a huge vulnerability

that being said i don't care how secure they say they will be i'm not backing up my phone with all my contacts and other important/personal info to the Internet. i'll stick with the cable attached to my computer

you can bet hackers around the world are going to be having a whole lot of fun hacking into a free cloud service offered by apple that connects to all those iDevices.

It is to be used for a new phone, so I doubt that there will be anything like a device s/n. Trick someone to give you their Apple ID and password and then you're free to steal their identity.

Great, so now your lossless or 320kbit/s ripped songs get "upgraded" to 256kbit/s and loudness war when you use iCloud.
